    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\">Reports To: Site Director&nbsp;</p><p>Location: Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry</p><p>Employment Status: Part-Time / Non-Exempt&nbsp;</p><p>Schedule: Monday &ndash; Friday 3:00-6:00pm, aligned with afterschool program hours, summer hours vary&nbsp;</p><p>Position Summary&nbsp;</p><p>The Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for youth in the afterschool program. Under the guidance of the Site Director, the YDP implements activities that support members&rsquo; academic, social, and emotional growth while fostering strong relationships with youth and their families.&nbsp;</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Support members in academic achievement, college and career readiness, and personal and social development through mentoring and small group guidance.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Plan and implement engaging, high-yield activities across program areas including STEM, arts, technology, recreation, and leadership development.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming environment by supervising assigned spaces and effectively managing behavior.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Build and maintain positive, supportive relationships with youth, serving as a consistent role model.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Assist with homework support, assignment tracking, and collaboration with classroom teachers to reinforce academic success.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Promote and stimulate program participation by encouraging member engagement and supporting recruitment efforts.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Coordinate with the Site Director to provide activity schedules, program reports, and feedback on member needs and progress.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Support the planning and execution of Club events, theme days, and special activities.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Supervise and guide volunteers and community guests participating in program delivery.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Recommend new program offerings and help identify community partners or resources to enhance Club experiences.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Complete assessments of program impact and member progress using formal and informal tools.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Ensure cleanliness and order of Club spaces and model respect for shared environments.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Assist with administrative duties including attendance tracking, snack distribution, and setup/cleanup.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; May be required to drive a Club vehicle for member transport or offsite programs.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to deliver high-quality youth services.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and Club-wide events as needed.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Perform additional duties as assigned to support Club operations.&nbsp;</p><p>Skills/Knowledge Required&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; College diploma and Teaching Credential.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Knowledge of youth development; ability to motivate and provide guidance through positive relationships.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Ability to relate to the general public, parents, and Club members in a friendly and professional manner.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Demonstrated ability to communicate Club policies and implement guidance and discipline procedures.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Ability to organize and supervise participants to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Valid South Carolina Driver&rsquo;s License.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Strong verbal and written communication skills.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Demonstrated energy, enthusiasm, and commitment in working with youth, families, and the community.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Experience working with youth in a group setting preferred.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Ability to lead engaging activities and foster a positive group dynamic.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; Must pass background check and meet any local licensing requirements.&nbsp;</p><p>Physical Demands:&nbsp;</p><p>The physical demands and characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those occurring in the performance of the essential functions of this job.
