Responsibilities include: technical investigation, equipment selection/specification, project justifications, installation and start-up. Additional areas of focus include cost savings; primarily through automation and problem solving.</p><p><strong><u><em>Key Job Accountabilities</em></u></strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">Major Capital Project Management</p><p>Manages facilities and equipment capital development and execution, assuring effective selection and implementation of the right technologies; integrates safety requirements and considerations into project design and execution; acts as subject matter expert regarding equipment; collaborates with the Manufacturing department to develop standard work procedures for set-up, operation and processing.</p><p>Continuous Improvement and Engineering Cost Reduction</p><p>Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing groups to identify opportunities and generate cost reduction results; drives focus on direct labor reduction through implementation of automation, as well as improving machine output and reducing down time/pack out loss.</p><p>Problem Solving and Quality / Productivity Improvement</p><p>Ensures sufficient resourcing to support quality and manufacturing functions, including the help chain, and leads quality improvement efforts; provides effective solutions to complex problems through sound root cause problem solving deployment.</p><p>Equipment and Vendor Database Management</p><p>Monitors equipment trends in thermoforming and extrusion equipment as well as in plant support equipment systems (compressed air and water systems). Maintains database on equipment/capabilities, age and limitations and develop and maintains a list of critical specifications for equipment purchase, including including safety requirements, electrical certifications, and components specifications. Supplies manufacturing with equipment emergency contact list.</p><p><strong><u><em>Knowledge</em></u></strong></p><p><strong>Engineering Principles</strong></p><p><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Thorough understanding of engineering principles and how to apply them</span></p><p><strong>Thermoforming Technology - Basic</strong></p><p>Basic understanding of thermoforming and extrusion technology</p><p><strong>Product Handling and other technologies</strong></p><p>Understands equipment used in product handling and decorating. Knowledge of equipment and methods available in the market</p><p><strong>Financial Analysis</strong></p><p>Can analyze and create a business case related to new equipment purchases or business opportunities</p><p><strong>Equipment Safety</strong></p><p>Knowledge of Fabri-Kal and regulatory safety requirements. Able to conduct safety reviews on new equipment installations</p><p><strong>Thermoforming Equipment</strong></p><p>Understands the operation and components of extrusion and thermoforming equipment: motors, valves, heaters, pnuematic systems. Able to troubleshoot</p><p><strong>Basic CAD</strong></p><p>Ability to create and manipulate drawing in 2D</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Manage Vendor Relationships</strong></p><p>Understands the techniques required to develop, maintain and manage business relationships with vendors in order to implement and manage projects</p><p><strong>SAP</strong></p><p>Working knowledge of the SAP system as it relates to CAPEX tracking and purchasing</p><p><strong>Technology Investigations</strong></p><p>Able to investigate alternate technologies with a focus on decorating and product handling systems</p><p><strong>Microsoft Office Suite</strong></p><p>Proficiency in MS Office products.
