    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>LMI, a trusted government contractor with decades of experience delivering cutting-edge solutions, is seeking a driven and innovative <strong>Platform Engineer </strong>to help build and extend IronGate, an ETL solution focused on moving data from commercial environments into secure environments. You’ll be an initial member of a small, cross-functional team maintaining this product on contract. <strong>This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance;  U.S. citizenship is required. This role requires quarterly travel for in person team planning and collaboration events.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This isn’t a maintain-the-backlog role. You’ll work across the stack, own features end-to-end, and help shape how this solution is built for long term success for our clients.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About This Team</strong></p>\n<p>IronGate sits within LMI’s Chief Technology Office. We’re a small, high-visibility team building an ETL for federal agencies. The culture is more startup than traditional government contractor; we move fast, solve problems in design spikes rather than scheduled reviews, and care more about outcomes than process. That said, we’re building for users who need reliability and trust, so craft and attention to detail matter.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You’ll work daily with our Product Manager, Engineering Lead, and Product Team. The roadmap for IronGate is still being formed, so you’ll be joining during a great time to help forge our path forward.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, deployment, operation, and refinement using an agile methodology   </li>\n <li>Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews   </li>\n <li>Embrace the DevSecOps culture with a commitment to automate what can be automated   </li>\n <li>Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health   </li>\n <li>Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity   </li>\n <li>Practice sustainable incident response and actively participate in retrospectives   </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Eligability to obtain a clearance required </li>\n <li>Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field </li>\n <li>7-10 years’ experience as a Platform Engineer   </li>\n <li>Minimum of 5+ years of experience programming in Python. Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks   </li>\n <li>Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive   </li>\n <li>Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems   </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience building continuous, automated build and deploy pipelines   </li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience in conditional procedure of build and deploy pipeline based on security scans of source and artifact   </li>\n <li>Capable of working with software development team and platform infrastructure team to provide meaningful guidance to both for code development and deployment   </li>\n <li>In-depth knowledge of version control of release artifacts to facilitate upgrade rollout and rollback   </li>\n <li>Strong understanding of containerization of web applications   </li>\n <li>Understanding and familiarity with container orchestration engines such as K8s (EKS, AKS, GKE, Kops, OpenShift)   </li>\n <li>Experience with GitLab CI/CD   </li>\n <li>Experience with bash shell scripting  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Agile, Lean, DevOps, Cloud, Security+ or other professional certification   </li>\n <li>Familiarity with DoD IT standards and federal security standards strongly desired   </li>\n <li>Knowledge of the Army software development process and its technologies </li>\n <li>Hands-on experience using agile software development methodologies    </li>\n <li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a cross-functional agile team  </li>\n <li>Experience working in a consultant/client environment  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Target salary range: $101,145 - $192,000</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Disclaimer:</em></strong> The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
