    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>This position is responsible for performing whole blood collection in donor centers and mobile sites; conducts donor registration, interviews, draw, and donor care; performs regulated pre- and post-collection functions including storage and transportation of blood; promotes a positive organizational image; designated as essential during severe weather or emergency operations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>$2,500.00 Sign On Bonus Available</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Duties, Responsibilities or Activities Required by the Job</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging the donor, treating donors in a respectful manner, and striving to provide each donor with a positive and pleasant experience which would encourage their return.</li>\n <li>Perform all aspects of whole blood collection as required.</li>\n <li>Conduct donor interviews and evaluate donor suitability based on current Standard Operating Procedures and criteria.</li>\n <li>Obtain and document donor hemoglobin and vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and height).</li>\n <li>Maintain confidentiality of all donor information.</li>\n <li>Perform site preparation, phlebotomy, and discontinuation of whole blood procedures; monitor donor progress and respond promptly to adverse reactions; ensure collected product meets standards.</li>\n <li>Perform pre- and post-draw activities including quality control, processing and packing of blood products, cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, proper handling of controlled supplies, and assisting with pre-draw setup and post-draw packing for mobile operations.</li>\n <li>Works in donor centers and mobile collection sites as assigned; travels between sites as required to meet operational needs</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent - </li>\n <li>Valid MO Class E Driver's License or KS Class C Driver's License with excellent driving history.</li>\n <li><strong>WORK HOURS AND DAYS VARY SO MUST BE VERY FLEXIBLE.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent customer service skills.</li>\n <li>Good writing skills to successfully document as needed.</li>\n <li>Good verbal skills to successfully communicate with donors, chairpersons, community, and co-workers.</li>\n <li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</li>\n <li>Computer skills.</li>\n <li>Good driving skills and record.</li>\n <li>Maintains professional demeanor and attitude.</li>\n <li>Truck driving experience a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of basic medical terminology</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience Preferred:</strong></p>\n<p>Prefer an individual with at least 6 months experience in:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A health-related field, and</li>\n <li>Phlebotomy</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Founded in 1958, Community Blood Center (CBC) has served Kansas and Missouri for more than 65 years, delivering more than 150,000 lifesaving blood products annually to 70+ hospitals, EMS and healthcare partners.
