The Auto Body Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition or better. This role requires knowledge of automotive paint systems, surface preparation techniques, color matching, and safety procedures.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Mix and match paint colors using computerized color-matching equipment and manufacturer formulas.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Apply basecoat, and clearcoat finishes using spray guns and related equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Inspect vehicles for imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain paint booth cleanliness and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Follow OSHA and shop safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work closely with body technicians and estimators to ensure quality repairs and timely completion.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensure finished work meets company quality standards and customer expectations.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High school diploma or GED preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Previous experience as an auto body painter or automotive refinishing technician preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of automotive paint systems, preparation methods, and refinishing techniques.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to use spray guns, sanders, buffers, and other body shop equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong attention to detail and color accuracy.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to work independently and in a team environment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">I-CAR or 3M certification is a plus.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to stand for extended periods.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to paint fumes, dust, and noise.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to wear protective equipment, including respirators and safety gear.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Competitive pay based on experience</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Paid time off and holidays</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">401k with company match</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Continuous training and certification opportunities</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">This position works in an automotive collision repair or refinishing shop environment.
