Description
The Group Home Treatment and Program Directo r performs a variety of administrative, supervisory, clinical and advanced direct care services in managing personnel, creating a therapeutic milieu and meeting each child's treatment needs. The Director is responsible for providing continuous care for children, meeting standards of professional performance and utilization established by the professional staff. This position ensures the philosophical, operational and clinical integrity of home services for 24-hour operation. The Director assumes a leadership role in integrating, overseeing, planning and evaluating each child's treatment progress and directs treatment implementation in the milieu to ensure the overall well being of children. The Director works closely with a variety of agency personnel and community professionals in meeting program and operational needs. The Director is responsible for the development and maintenance of a positive and cohesive staff effort in an atmosphere of trust and security.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
A bachelor’s degree in human services or equivalent experience.
Solid moral character.
Knowledge of normal and abnormal child development and the social, psychological and environmental factors contributing to pathological behavior; the terminology used in psychological assessments; advanced theories, techniques, practices and philosophy used in the agency's program model.
Knowledge of policies, procedures and standards regarding food preparation, household maintenance, record keeping, personnel management, safety, infection control in areas of responsibility.
Interpersonal skills required to provide effective leadership and ability to establish and promote secure and trusting relationships with subordinate staff.
Analytical and management skills necessary to organize and oversee the work of others, staff effectively, enforce agency policies and to develop and administer sound policies, procedures and budgets.
Thorough knowledge and ability to train and apply the philosophy, theories, techniques and practices used in the agency's program model in the daily course of work.
Capacity to utilize clinical supervision and apply it to personal growth and treatment design.
Ability to work under minimal administrative supervision, exercise a high degree of initiative, organize and manage time and tasks with a high degree of flexibility and manage personal needs under frustrating and stressful conditions.
Must be knowledgeable about federal, state and local regulations related to the protection, rights and care of children.
Must be able to work effectively with all agency staff and outside professionals in an interdisciplinary team approach.
Employee Classification, Compensation and Benefits:
This position is a Full-time, Professional, Exempt position.
Compensation is based on range establish in the Partnership for Children Salary Schedule and will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
Partnership for Children provides a generous benefit package inclusive of:
