Our location at Life Pacific University in San Dimas, CA is currently looking to build our Food Service Team in the position of Prep Cook 1.</p><p>Check us out on the web at www.providerfoodservice.com</p><p><strong>Summary</strong></p><p>The Prep Cook assists in the preparation of dishes in the kitchen by performing routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:</strong></p><ul><li>Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties</li><li>Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible</li><li>Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking</li><li>Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.</li><li>Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc</li><li>Assembly and preparing all packaged food items.</li><li>Keeping track of items used in each location to ensure stock is available.</li><li>Cutting, packaging, and labeling retail items.</li><li>Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils.</li><li>Set up the workstation and gather ingredients needed for prep.</li><li>Checking temperatures of food as well as knowing proper holding temperature of cold and hot food items.</li><li>Breaking down, cleaning and sanitizing the work prep area.</li><li>Other duties may be assigned as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as prep cook</li><li>Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen</li><li>Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils</li><li>A team player with good communication skills</li><li>Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure</li><li>Very good physical condition and endurance</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school is an asset</li></ul><p><strong>What We Can Do For YOU:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive Pay - $16.00-$18.00 per hour</li><li>Vacation Time after being employed for 12 months</li><li>Sick Time</li><li>Medical Benefits for Full Time Team Members</li><li>Free or Discounted Meals</li><li>Employee Referral Program</li><li>Career Growth Opportunities</li><li>Flexible hours</li></ul><p>We are an E verify Employer</p>",
