    "description": "<p>Houston Landscapes Ltd. is seeking a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Landscaping Foreman </span>for its location in North Vancouver, BC. It’s a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position, $37.00/hour paid bi-weekly. Overtime compensation is based on the current BC Employment Standards Act (1.5 times the regular wage paid if the daily hours exceed 8 hours or the weekly hours exceed 40 hours).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer an employee benefit plan that includes health benefits that are available after six months with the company. Two weeks of paid vacation each year.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location of employment</span>: Vancouver Mainland</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Business Address: </span>260 Riverside Dr. North Vancouver, BC, V7H 1V1</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job duties:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily inspection of landscape to ensure overall presentation and condition of grounds and gardens meet standards and quality expectations of Houston Landscapes.</li>\n<li>Prioritize horticultural tasks and coordinate implementation of work assignments.</li>\n<li>Manage and coordinate the activities of ground maintenance workers and maintain work records and logs.</li>\n<li>Plan and estimate labour and materials.</li>\n<li>Assign duties to the workers and train and mentor new employees.</li>\n<li>Oversee the planning and constructing of landscaped environments, including all ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns and softscape features.</li>\n<li>Oversee and assist in the installation of paving stone patios, walkways, driveways, ponds and water features and in the installation of flagstone and other natural stone patios, walkways, and pool decks.</li>\n<li>Organize and oversee the excavation of sites and grades.</li>\n<li>Attend meetings as necessary, including but not limited to managers’ meetings, committee meetings and planning.</li>\n<li>Organize and oversee the excavation of sites and grades.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have completed an apprenticeship as a gardener or have equivalent work experience.</li>\n<li>Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a Tractor and Pick-up truck.</li>\n<li>Must have at least three years of experience as a foreman or supervisor.</li>\n<li>Must have the ability to supervise 16 – 20 people.</li>\n<li>Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.</li>\n<li>Must be a team player, have client focus, and excellent oral communication.</li>\n<li>Must be able to speak, read and write in English.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
