Excellent opportunity for medical professional with a flexible schedule.</strong>&nbsp; <strong>Client will only consider applicants with current 5+ years of Trauma Registrar Experience.</strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>This is a Subcontractor (1099) PRN Position</strong></p>\n\n<h4><strong>Job Summary:</strong></h4>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Abstracts physiological and anatomical data on trauma patients for inclusion into a trauma data collection system</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Performs identification, prioritization and injury coding of trauma patients for inclusion into a trauma data collection system</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Performs duties to support the abstraction of quality trauma data for use locally, statewide and nationally</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Performs other trauma registry duties as may be required per the contract</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h4><strong>Major Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></h4>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Maintains confidentiality and security of patient data at all times</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Abstracts data from the medical record according to the requirements of the hospital, state and national trauma registry data definitions including demographic characteristics, prehospital information, initial hospital treatment, operating room usage, outcome and final disposition.</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Participates in periodic quality reviews</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Interacts in a positive manner with client(s)</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Remotely accesses electronic health records and trauma data collection systems</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h4><strong>Competencies and Skills:</strong></h4>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have completed coursework in physiology, anatomy and medical terminology</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have the ability to code in ICD-10-CM specific to injuries and mechanism of injuries</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have the ability to code in ICD-10-PCS</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have the ability to assign severity of injury utilizing the AAAM Abbreviated Injury Scale</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must be able to analyze and process detail-oriented information</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must be able to read and understand data definitions using a standard data dictionary</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must be self-motivated and able to work independently</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must be very comfortable working with technology and personal computer</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h4><strong>Education and Experience:</strong></h4>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Minimum 5&nbsp;years (Current)&nbsp;of trauma registry experience required</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have experience with electronic health records</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have experience with NTDS trauma data definitions</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have CSTR or CAISS</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Must have experience with one or more trauma data collection systems (e.g. TQIP, DI COLLECTOR, TraumaOne, Trauma Base, TSE, etc.)</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>RHIA, RHIT, RN, LPN Preferred</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Experience abstracting trauma data for pediatric and/or ABA burn patients is desired</strong></p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h4><strong>General Requirements:</strong></h4>\n\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate must possess the following characteristics:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p><strong>Commitment and reliability;
