Inspectors should be well versed in troubleshooting issues while on site to ensure the proper repairs are suggested and issues that come up during testing are quickly and properly resolved to limit downtime.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">navigating on site issues and managing their time efficiently while ensuring a thorough inspection.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A strong understanding of the relevant fire codes is necessary to ensure the inspections are being completed as required by customers, their insurance providers and the AHJ.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Wet Systems</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Weekly, Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Testing of control valves, low pressure switches, automatic pressure switches, flow switches, main drains/water supply, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Inspecting alarm valves, trim, piping, hangers, sprinkler heads, FDC’s, etc.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Dry Systems</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Weekly, Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Draining Drum Drips, Testing/Resetting Accelerators, Resetting Dry Valves, Full &amp; Partial Trips</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Inspecting compressors and identifying maintenance requirements</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Preaction/Deluge Systems</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Weekly, Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Draining Drum Drips, Full/Partial Trips, Testing function of solenoids, pneumatic actuators and other releasing devices. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Ensuring proper sequencing of FA and Preaction Devices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Inspecting compressors and identifying maintenance requirements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Resetting valves after testing.</span> </li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Fire Pumps/Standpipe</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Weekly Diesel, Monthly Electric-confirming proper operation of controller and safety features, confirming proper pressures on gauges, proper fluid levels in diesel driver, packing in good condition/adjusted as necessary, confirming proper operation of main relief and circulation relief.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Annual for Electric/Diesel-complete annual performance test with flow meter or testing equipment. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Recording reading from the fire pump and the associated driver.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Where required adjusting relief valves to ensure proper flow readings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Basic diagnosis of issues with pump performance or driver issues.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Ensuring pump installation meets current requirements and making proper recommendations to meet current standards when required. Ie.Test Headers, Piping Arrangements, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">When required, a standpipe flow test from the most remote hose cabinet is to be performed during the annual inspection.  During this test, the fitter is verifying the necessary flow and pressure requirements are being met for the standpipe system.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Deficiencies for all types of systems including minor pump repairs.</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A service fitter should be comfortable in servicing/repairing all aspects of fire protection equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Relocating and adding sprinkler heads</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Repairing or modifying system piping</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Repairing or replacing system components</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Completing internal valve and pipe assessments</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Hydrostatic testing on FDC’s and Backflow Forward Flows</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Air loss test on dry/preaction systems</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Troubleshooting issues with proper system operation, providing thorough solutions with material as needed.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Service Work</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Fitters should be capable of attending a wide range of service calls where it may be necessary to address/diagnose issues with varying components of the system. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Identify and provide effective solutions and complete the repairs in a timely manner. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Communicate with customers effectively and ensure the customer is receiving valuable quality service.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The Service Fitters should be capable of being on call for their designated after-hours time frame.  While on call, the fitter is responsible for receiving after hours service calls for their specific region and independently providing the necessary solutions required for various situations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A member of local 496 in good standing</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Have 2+ years of service van experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Clean drivers abstract and valid drivers’ license.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Journeyperson status</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Follow verbal and written instructions and provide clear and efficient communication</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Capable of performing physical labour to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Majority of work is all above head</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Able to get Security Clearances is an asset</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Approval for additional manpower.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Communication regarding CFLS or site-specific safety requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Capable and experienced with using mobile devices (iPad/iPhone) for completing reports and deficiencies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">On-site installation conflicts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Approval for all human resource related matters (ie. holidays, leave of absence, letter of employment history).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">We thank all applicants who apply, but only those candidates who meet the above qualifications will be contacted for an interview.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>",
