The Salvation Army is seeking an experienced Development Director for the Central Oklahoma Area Command to implement, administer, and sustain a development plan.
The Salvation Army operates in communities across the United States. We are committed to meeting human needs wherever we can by providing food distribution, disaster relief, rehabilitation centers, anti-human trafficking efforts, housing for homeless, children’s programs and many other programs.

About this opportunity
Plans, develops, implements, administers, and monitors fundraising programs for Central Oklahoma Area Command. Develops and secures funds to achieve/surpass fundraising goals through a variety of financial development vehicles including: (1) individual major gifts and individual donor upgrading; (2) corporate gifts and sponsorships; (3) foundation support for specific programs and projects; (4) capital campaigns; (5) special events; (6) United Way Funding; and (7) City, County, State, and Federal Government grants.
Qualifications
You are an ideal match for the role if you have:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with specialized training in fundraising management highly desirable AND three to five years’ experience of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and fundraising management OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including Area Command and Divisional staff, donors, Advisory Board members, corporations, and community philanthropists.
Significant prior experience planning, developing, implementing fundraising strategies and determining their effectiveness in achieving short- and long-term goals.
Considerable experience with a donor/contact management system (CRM)
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Experience or ability to work with boards, councils, and committees with successful outcomes.
Strong desire to work for the mission and cause of The Salvation Army.
CFRE Certification preferred.
This position will be in the office at the Central Oklahoma Area Command, with local travel in the area.
Valid Driver's License required
