    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Provide assistance to residents in an Assisted Living Community with activities of daily living as needed according to individual and physician-directed Care Plan.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living as needed according to Care Plan (toileting, ambulation, eating, transferring, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, etc.)</li>\n <li>Assure that residents are dressed appropriately when in living areas of the home or outside the building.</li>\n <li>Assist and teach the resident self-help skills with activities of daily living in order to maximize their independence and freedom of movement.</li>\n <li>Based on training criteria, perform all personal care tasks.  With completion of the 45-hour course, perform basic personal care tasks.  If the 80-hour course is completed, perform special health related tasks, as approved by doctors' orders, approved and signed off by RN.</li>\n <li>Provide personal assistance as needed, requested, or required.</li>\n <li>Respond to hand bell or other signaling calls.</li>\n <li>Assist the residents with transportation when so indicated by the ED/Administrator.</li>\n <li>Assist the Activities Coordinator in carrying out planned activities.</li>\n <li>Provide assistance to residents to keep clothes in proper order.</li>\n <li>Assist residents with making beds as needed and make beds when residents are not able to do so.</li>\n <li>Provide residents with a clean towel and washcloth as needed.</li>\n <li>Provide assistance with using, emptying and cleaning resident equipment (urinals, bedside commodes, bed pans, wash basins, shower chairs, etc.) as needed.</li>\n <li>Assure residents receive their snacks and assist them at mealtime as needed.</li>\n <li>Help orient new residents admitted to the home.</li>\n <li>Notify ED/Administrator, RCC or SIC when there is a need for medical attention of any resident or any other change in resident status.</li>\n <li>Be able to apply all rules and regulations pertaining to the use of restraints as ordered by physicians in writing.</li>\n <li>Report any accident or incident to ED/Administrator, RCC or SIC.</li>\n <li>Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each resident.</li>\n <li>Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to residents, their families and visitors.</li>\n <li>Be familiar with confidentiality of resident information and adhere to requirements.</li>\n <li>Be familiar with and be able to apply all the adult care home's accident, fire safety, OSHA and emergency procedures.</li>\n <li>Be familiar with the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents in exercising their rights.</li>\n <li>Assure careful treatment of adult care home equipment and utilization of supplies.</li>\n <li>Read and adhere to all Adult Care Home and employee policies.</li>\n <li>Participate in any job-related continuing education as required by ED/Administrator.</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as assigned in accordance with licensing rules and the home's administrative policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate and detailed documentation as required in resident services, such as progress notes, incidents, changes in condition, appearance and behavior of residents.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as required by circumstance.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have or obtain C.N.A or Personal Care Aide Certificate (80-Hour) with Personal Care Aide Training within 6-Months of hire. </li>\n <li>Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions.</li>\n <li>Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Must be able to Lift, Push, Pull and Carry a minimum of 50 pounds.</li>\n <li>Must be able to Bend, Stoop, Squat, and reach overhead as needed.</li>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years old.</li>\n <li>Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program and maintain during employment.</li>\n <li>Must have a clear SBI record and maintain during period of employment.</li>\n <li>Must have two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test).</li>\n</ul>",
