After training, this role qualifies as a hybrid position.<br> &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Job Description Summary</strong></p><p>The Patient Services Representative is primarily responsible for providing excellent attention and coordination for Home Medical Equipment (HME) clients, payers, and referral sources.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Provides excellent patient services</li><li>Provides order intake via phone/fax</li><li>Verifies insurance, confirms orders, provides data entry for new patients</li><li>Completes Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN’s)&nbsp;</li><li>Completes prior approvals and authorizations</li><li>Contacts patients for re-orders</li><li>Completes repair orders</li><li>Maintains open communication with payers, referral sources, patients, and all administrative staff</li><li>Ensures that all files are maintained according to IPI policies and reports all discrepancies to immediate supervisor</li><li>Stays informed regarding changes in billing guidelines for all payer sources and share information with appropriate IPI personnel</li><li>Researches and recommends improvements in general procedures (i.e. billing, items purchased, etc.) to streamline processes and minimize unneeded expense</li><li>Purchasing and receiving duties, as needed</li><li>Promotes home nursing and respiratory / HME referrals in the healthcare community</li><li>Complies with agency, state, federal, and CHAP policies and procedures</li></ul>",
