    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Engineering Manager</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>As the Engineering Manager, you will lead the design and engineering of multiple concurrent data centre projects across France.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>You’ll implement Verne’s Design &amp; Engineering standards, manage challenging deliverables against aggressive project expectations, always within budget and on time.</p>\n<p>You will be a senior member of the Verne Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Design &amp; Product Development.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you’ll do;</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make the engineering decisions that enable our customers to succeed.</li>\n<li>Apply the Project Engineering Strategy at all phases of the project lifecycle.</li>\n<li>Strategic Brief: Manage test-fit exercises, applying the Verne reference design and any site specific constraints to maximise yield. Technical contributions to permitting matrices, path to power, connectivity and other key technical deliverables.</li>\n<li>Permitting Design: Responsible technical land due diligence and permit design deliverables set and driving the team toward a fully compliant design.</li>\n<li>Procurement Design: Incorporating market and buildability constraints with an emphasis on value engineering and predicable delivery.</li>\n<li>Manufacturing &amp; Construction: Inspection of installations against the Plan of Record in partnership with the development team, acting as technical point of contact. Technical approver of variations.</li>\n<li>Commissioning: Review that scripts adequately describe commissioning activities which demonstrate system design objectives. Witness commissioning.</li>\n<li>Handover: Verify as-builts and all technical documentation adequately describes the facility in a manner that Operations can guarantee uptime.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">How you’ll do it:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Direct and oversee Professional Consultants (Architects, Engineers), Equipment Supplier technical teams and specialist contractor technical teams.</li>\n<li>Work in partnership with Project Engineering lead to address project specific requirements.</li>\n<li>Appoint specialist consultants or suppliers as necessary to achieve specified deliverables.</li>\n<li>Review consultant and supplier technical deliverables for adherence to Verne design &amp; engineering standards.</li>\n<li>Contribute lessons learned and key breakthroughs to Verne design &amp; engineering program continuous improvement.</li>\n<li>Host page turn meetings, review all technical deliverables by the Client Team.</li>\n<li>Develop and maintain vendor relationships (Suppliers, Consultants, Engineers, Architects) to maintain cost-effective services for Verne projects.</li>\n<li>Approve consultant invoices.</li>\n<li>Ensure project engineering reports and progress aligns with Verne Engineering overarching requirements.</li>\n<li>Present the design, design deviations, value engineering report and quality assurance report at the conclusion of each stage gate.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you’ll need</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors in Engineering or a physical sciences</li>\n<li>Fluent French </li>\n<li>5+ years experience in a hands-on design role (e.g. performing calculations, authoring specifications and drawing sets as a consultant, or as an in-house engineer for a design build contractor)</li>\n<li>3+ years in a project delivery capacity (e.g. accountable for managing a schedule of deliverables for technically complex projects)</li>\n<li>Excellence in bringing a team together to deliver</li>\n<li>Degree-level subject matter expertise in at least one Data Centre related technical discipline (e.g. electrical distribution, critical cooling, mission critical controls)</li>\n<li>Comfort and familiarity with directing all other technical disciplines and holding individual engineers to account, including general building services engineering.</li>\n<li>Comfort in managing a budget, financial acumen to liaise with finance and to drive cost effectiveness from our professional services supply chain. </li>\n</ul>",
