Apply today and take the next step in your leadership journey with Elderwood. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Elderwood at Waverly is located at: 37 N Chemung St, Waverly, NY 14892</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) - Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Clinical Leadership & Operations</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations</li>\n <li>Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the DON</li>\n <li>Ensure <strong>24/7 nursing coverage</strong> and appropriate staffing levels</li>\n <li>Conduct regular rounds to monitor care delivery, staff performance, and overall unit operations</li>\n <li>Maintain a <strong>safe, clean, and resident-centered environment</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Staff Leadership & Development</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)</li>\n <li>Assist with scheduling, performance management, and staff development</li>\n <li>Address employee concerns and support a <strong>positive, accountable team culture</strong></li>\n <li>Provide coaching, counseling, and performance feedback as needed</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with CNA training and supervision requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Staffing & Workforce Planning</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Partner with the DON to assess staffing needs and workforce planning</li>\n <li>Assist in developing schedules and assigning staff to ensure optimal coverage</li>\n <li>Support ongoing evaluation of staffing models and team effectiveness</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Resident Care & Clinical Oversight</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee admissions, readmissions, and discharge planning in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams</li>\n <li>Assess resident conditions and ensure care plans are implemented effectively</li>\n <li>Monitor medication administration and treatment delivery for accuracy and compliance</li>\n <li>Provide direct nursing care as needed</li>\n <li>Ensure timely identification and reporting of changes in resident condition</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Medicare & Regulatory Compliance</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversee eligibility and documentation for <strong>Medicare Skilled Services</strong></li>\n <li>Ensure physician certifications and required documentation are obtained</li>\n <li>Monitor resident eligibility and coordinate timely notifications of status changes</li>\n <li>Support survey readiness and adherence to all federal, state, and company regulations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Interdisciplinary Coordination</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with Social Services, Therapy (PT/OT/ST), and other departments to support resident outcomes</li>\n <li>Coordinate therapeutic services and monitor resident progress</li>\n <li>Ensure seamless communication across clinical teams</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Administrative & Operational Support</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete required documentation, reports, and audits accurately and timely</li>\n <li>Support implementation of policies, procedures, and quality initiatives</li>\n <li>Assist in maintaining compliance with all organizational standards and expectations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>From</h2>\n<h2>Up to</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) Position:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must possess, as a minimum, a degree in Nursing from an accredited school.</li>\n <li>Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as in state.</li>\n <li>Baccalaureate degree preferred.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of the needs of geriatric complex care requiring long term care, the principles of management, supervision, organizational behavior and structure, and communication systems.</li>\n <li>A physical examination and/or evidence from a physician indicating free of communicable disease to be available upon employment.</li>\n <li>Must be in good physical and mental health.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently or part of a group.</li>\n <li>Effectively communicate with others.</li>\n <li>If expected to drive company vehicle- must have valid driver's license with good driving record and be at least 21 years of age. (In order to comply with company Driving Standards P&P).</li>\n <li>Must have, as a minimum, 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.</li>\n <li>Previous long-term care experience is desirable.</li>\n <li>Computer knowledge preferred.</li>\n <li>This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
