Overview of Positions The First-Year Writing Program invites applications for two full-time assistant professorships to begin in Fall 2026. We are seeking experienced candidates who can demonstrate a strong record of student-centered teaching and innovative research. Experience teaching both native and non-native English-speaking students is an asset. Successful candidates will be creative, possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be thoroughly knowledgeable about effective methods of teaching writing in higher education today. Direct Teaching •    8 courses per year (teaching load may be negotiable at a lower salary) Indirect Teaching and Service Duties •    Develop curricula and instructional materials; •    Mentor new FYWP instructors; •    Participate in faculty meetings and institutional training events; •    Contribute to research in Rhetoric and Composition Studies, or a related field; •    Perform service to support the advancement of quality teaching and effective learning; •    Fulfill university service duties, particularly through participation in student engagement activities and faculty committees. Qualifications & Experience A PhD or EdD in Writing Studies, Rhetoric and Composition, Applied Linguistics, TESOL or a terminal degree in another closely related field; At least three years of successful experience teaching first-year composition in a U.S. university setting; Knowledge of contemporary approaches to teaching academic writing and experience in effective classroom pedagogy; A solid record of scholarly publications and presentations, and an on-going research agenda Application Process Review of applications will begin immediately.
