Summer @ Riverbend in Natick, MA has the following openings for Summer 2026:
Summer Assistant Counselors
Summer Counselor-in-Training (CIT)
Summer Floater (Full-time)
Summer Lead/Assistant Counselor
The Summer Lead/Assistant Counselor is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing (or assisting with) programming and experiences for children (ages 15 months to 5 years) in a classroom setting. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, circle time, water play and activities, etc.
Essential Responsibilities for all counselors
Identify and respond to participant behavior issues.
Ensure that the classroom and outdoor areas are kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
Communicate with director about participant’s experiences and report concerns to Program Leadership.
Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports and daily attendance.
Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines and emergency procedures associated with the program and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your class participants’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
Qualifications
Lead counselors must have a high school diploma and experience as a classroom teacher/working with children.
Assistant counselors must be at least 16 years old and have some prior experience with children (e.g., babysitting, summer camp, school internship).
Qualifications required of all counselors:
Completion of First Aid and CPR certification.
Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in program activities which include, but are not limited to hiking, team building initiatives, physical games, and activities.
Dates are: June 15-August 21 (specific weeks based on enrollment)
Counselor Hours : Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
It is expected that all staff will function as self-directed members in a team effort. All performances should meet appropriate professional standards and adhere to the philosophy and mission of Riverbend School.
