As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Join our Oncology team and provide exceptional care to our Cancer patients.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> At Humber River Health Our Oncology team provides a full range of support to patients who are living with cancer, at all phases of their cancer experience - consultation, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and palliative and supportive care</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have a large Cancer Care Outpatient Clinic for chemotherapy treatments, and actively participate in Oncology clinical trials. Humber River Health was the first community hospital in Ontario to participate in these clinical trials</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Right now we are seeking a <strong>Registered Nurse</strong> for our Cancer Clinic. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our Oncology nurses specialize in treating people with cancer serving as their first line of communication as they help to coordinate and deliver many aspects of a patient’s treatment, including administering medications, fluids and cancer treatments such as chemotherapy.  They are caring individuals who are dedicated to assisting patients as they undergo treatment.</p>\n<p>Are you an experienced Oncology Nurse who is compassionate and has completed DeSouza Oncology courses?   If you answered yes to question above, we invite you to read the details below and apply to this exciting career opportunity at Humber River Health.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employee Status:</strong>  Temporary Part Time</p>\n<p><strong>Duration: </strong> March 10, 2027 subject to change</p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationship: </strong> Clinical Manager, Oncology</p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Rate:</strong> $41.15 - $58.98</p>\n<p><strong>Hours:  </strong>Monday to Friday<strong>  </strong>8 hour day shift</p>\n<p><strong>Union</strong>:  ONA</p>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> Hennick Humber Hospital. (Subject to change)</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Safe Administration of Chemotherapy and Biotherapy.</li>\n <li>Excellent Patient/Family teaching skills with an ability to promote patient centered care</li>\n <li>Care planning and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary team</li>\n <li>Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.</li>\n <li>Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.</li>\n <li>Resource/team leader responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Preceptorship of nursing students and Mentorship of new nursing staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario</li>\n <li>Current BCLS certification</li>\n <li>Current de Souza Institute Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Certification is required</li>\n <li>Excellent knowledge and skills in CVAD management and IV starts and infusion therapy</li>\n <li>DeSouza Institute course Foundations in Oncology Nursing, preferred.</li>\n <li>2 years current experience in oncology required.</li>\n <li>Current CNA, Oncology Specialty designation or eligible to write</li>\n <li>Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated excellent patient assessment skills..</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines</li>\n <li>An ability to work well independently with minimal supervision</li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. </li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
