Description

Description The Project Engineer II is responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the Product Development Process (PDP) as a guide to achieve project objectives for New Product Development projects. Responsible for product maintenance, cost improvement, quality improvement and similar projects. Directs and coordinates a project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments. This position will serve our US Air Division , located in Fort Smith, AR . Responsibilities Responsible for design and the full product-life cycle. Reviews project plans, proposals, and objectives. Creates, evaluates, and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Designs and conducts tests to determine project progress. Acts as liaison with department contacts to gain input and effectively communicates project status. Provides detailed test programs and guidance to assigned lab and design personnel in the conductance and documentation of product specific test standards. Evaluates data and makes recommendations. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Complies with state and federal regulations and ensures a clean and safe environment. Maintain thorough knowledge of latest manufacturing technologies, techniques, and practices. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or related Engineering 3+ years of experience in product development related to specific product-type equipment or related industry Demonstrated proficiency in application of thermo-fluid modeling, analysis, design and development of products and systems. Must be hands on and have experience in working in a product testing lab preferably in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability in working in product development teams and leading other engineers and lab technicians. Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis including statistical and uncertainty analysis. Demonstrated ability in designing experiments, interpreting experimental data, conducting analysis, drawing conclusions and preparing summary reports. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, and regulations. Demonstrated computer proficiency in all business-related software packages (e.g. MS Office), as well as experience with specific applications and programs related to design engineering (i.e., Creo, Solidworks, Pro/E, etc). Familiarity and/or experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as ANSYS-Fluent. Proficiency in project management, materials, manufacturing processes and business processes. Working knowledge of new product and technology development processes.
