In return, you’ll gain mentorship, training, and diverse project experience, with real opportunities to grow your skills and make a tangible impact for our clients and communities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Overview</strong></p>\n<p>Dillon’s <strong>Contaminant Assessment & Management </strong>discipline is looking for a <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Environmental Professional (Environmental Engineer, Geoscientist OR Environmental Engineering Technician) </strong>to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available in <strong>St. John's.  </strong>We offer a competitive compensation package and flexible work hours to help support the competing demands of work and personal life.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What your day will look like</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Field Activities, Data Analysis and Reporting </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate and complete field programs for contaminated sites projects, including Phase I, II & III Environmental Site Assessments, hydrogeological investigations, soil/groundwater/surface water/sediment/soil vapour sampling programs, and contaminated site remediation projects;</li>\n <li>Complete documentation of field activities, site health and safety meetings, among others in paper and digital formats (as required);</li>\n <li>Completion of activities including preparation of sampling plans, collection and compilation of field data, digital geo-referenced data, and completion of field notes;</li>\n <li>Contribution to environmental monitoring tasks on construction and industrial sites;</li>\n <li>Assist in preparation of environmental site assessment reports, including: compilation and analysis of data, borehole logs and test pit logs;</li>\n <li>Assist with designated hazardous substance surveys including asbestos and lead sampling and assist in air emissions testing programs;</li>\n <li>Operate, calibrate, and maintain project specific equipment;</li>\n <li>Ability to work remotely for up to two weeks;</li>\n <li>Ability to work overtime when required; and</li>\n <li>Ability to work alone in the field with guided direction or partial supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Project Coordination </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate with laboratories, clients, subcontractors, third-party stakeholders;</li>\n <li>Assist in report writing and preparation of technical memos, letters, reports, spreadsheets and figures; and</li>\n <li>Providing assistance to project managers, engineers, environmental scientists and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams (including project engineers, planners, biologists, technologists, etc.), with the opportunity develop into a Project Manager.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Learning and Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development; and</li>\n <li>Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What you will need to succeed</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A degree and/or diploma in Engineering, Geology, Geoscience, Ecology, Biology or Environmental Science or a related environmental discipline;</li>\n <li>A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental consulting will be an asset;</li>\n <li>Ability to collect field data according to provincial and/or federal requirements;</li>\n <li>A valid driver’s license;</li>\n <li>Versatile, adaptable, and willing to conduct a variety of tasks;</li>\n <li>Comfortable with use and operation of a 4X4 truck in an off-road environment;</li>\n <li>Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions; and</li>\n <li>Eligibility to register as a P.Eng., or P.Geo will be an asset.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations and guidelines;</li>\n <li>Knowledge of general construction practices and environmental mitigation measures;</li>\n <li>Experience in the collection of biological and physical field data;</li>\n <li>Experience in conducting environmental baseline programs, environmental impact assessments and environmental site assessments would be considered an asset</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcGIS would be considered an asset;</li>\n <li>Proficient in data entry, data compilation and the management of databases;</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint);</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills; and</li>\n <li>Proficient in the writing of technical reports.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Why choose Dillon</strong></p>\n<p>Dillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
