This position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boat business.  This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or experienced trades-person to advance into a career-building leadership position and gain invaluable experience to support their career development.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Roles and Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the activities of approximately 15 piping trades employees in the performance of preparing, assembling and installing equipment on-board submarines</li>\n <li>Primary point of contact to interface with engineering, ship's management, quality and other trade departments</li>\n <li>Lead the team to achievement of company goals for safety, quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvement </li>\n <li>Take ownership of team performance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>*This is a 3rd shift position</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Must meet one of the following:</u></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 1 year trade experience at electric boat</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3 year combined relevant experience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1 year EB experience and an Engineering degree in a related field</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>College/technical school AS/BS degree</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years pipe-fitting experience</li>\n <li>3 years of shipyard experience</li>\n <li>Previous supervisory experience </li>\n <li>Previous related Military/Navy experience </li>\n <li>Nuclear qualifications</li>\n <li>Knowledge of 688, VIRGINIA, and COLUMBIA class submarines</li>\n <li>Radcon qualifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedures, and related reference documents</li>\n <li>Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with subordinates and supervisors</li>\n <li>Must be able to work all assigned shifts</li>\n <li>Must be able to work extended hours</li>\n <li>Must be able to go on road assignments as business needs dictate</li>\n <li>Applicant must obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance as a condition of employment</li>\n <li>Capable of reading, interpreting and putting into effect plans, procedures and instructions</li>\n <li>Good presentation skills and attention to detail preferred</li>\n <li>Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point preferred </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Qualifications</h2>Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting\n<h2>Environmental Attributes</h2>Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet",
