We are looking for a talented Material Technician to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Maxton, NC .
Job Summary:
Under direct or close supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse. Receive incoming goods; check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices. Accurately sort, label, and store goods; arrange storage to optimize warehouse space. Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
• Minimal or no work experience required.
Qualifications
• Experience in Forklift operations an advantage
• Self-motivated to take actions that meet the goals of the department
• An accurate knowledge of part numbers, storage locations and quantities
• Computer/Cullinet experience with Receiving/Warehouse/Shipping transactions is an advantage
• Understand importance of inventory accuracy and on-time delivery of parts
• Excellent attendance, time management and housekeeping skills
• Flexible to work multiple shifts as needed
• Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
• Must be physically able to lift, pick/pull and package parts.
• Cross-train for all logistics area positions up to Level IV
• Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and urgency in accomplishing tasks
• Previous experience in material handling and supply chain logistics is an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn and understand materials transactions and impact to the plant operation
• Ability to give and receive feedback
• Possess a valid motor vehicle driver license.
