This educator will help foster a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment while upholding the YMCA&rsquo;s core values of <strong>Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility</strong>.</p><p>The ideal candidate will be deeply knowledgeable in <strong>EEC regulations</strong>, understand trauma-responsive and strength-based practices, and be committed to building strong relationships with children and families.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with YMCA educational standards.</li><li>Utilize proactive and positive behavior guidance techniques to support children with challenging behaviors.</li><li>Partner with families, teaching teams, and specialists to develop and carry out <strong>Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)</strong> as needed.</li><li>Ensure full compliance with <strong>EEC licensing regulations</strong>, classroom supervision policies, health and safety standards, and YMCA procedures.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation, including child observations, incident and behavior reports, and developmental progress notes.</li><li>Model and promote social-emotional development through SEL strategies and YMCA character-building practices.</li><li>Support the classroom environment by implementing visual schedules, individualized routines, and calming strategies.</li><li>Maintain open, professional communication with families regarding concerns, progress, and classroom activities.</li><li>Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and YMCA professional development opportunities.</li><li>Uphold the YMCA mission, program goals, and commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all children and families.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>EEC Teacher Certification</strong> in Toddler and/or Preschool required.</li><li>Minimum <strong>1&ndash;2 years of experience</strong> in early childhood education; experience addressing challenging behaviors strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of <strong>EEC regulations</strong> and early childhood best practices.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to implement positive behavior guidance, trauma-informed approaches, and classroom management strategies.</li><li>Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to reliably work a <strong>40-hour week</strong>.</li><li>Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., sit on the floor, and actively engage with young children.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Experience with <strong>SEL programs</strong>, <strong>PBIS</strong>, or restorative practices.</li><li>Training in behavior support frameworks such as CPI, Conscious Discipline, or equivalent.</li><li>Experience working in a diverse, inclusive childcare setting.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
