May give medications or immunizations, administer basic healthcare or medical treatment, change dressings on wounds, and apply bandages, dressings, or splints.</li>\r\n\t<li>Obtains, identifies and records patients&#39; medical history, vital statistics, prevention data, medications, chief complaints and other pertinent information; observes, records and reports pertinent patient symptoms, reactions, condition changes or information such as test results in medical records.</li>\r\n\t<li>Collects, prepares and transports blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, logs specimens and prepares for testing. Performs basic laboratory test, disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes instruments. Performs phlebotomy functions, venipuncture and skin puncture procedures as requested or required by provider.</li>\r\n\t<li>Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping rooms neat, clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies. Maintains instruments and prepares sterilization as required.</li>\r\n\t<li>Operates electrocardiogram (EKG) or other medical equipment to administer routine diagnostic test.</li>\r\n\t<li>Prepares patient for visit, keeps them updated on the status of their appointment and assist with rescheduling or scheduling follow-up appointments. Instructs patient as to general clinic policies, patients&#39; rights and responsibilities as needed.
