Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Water Resources Technician supports the Town of Landis’s water and sewer infrastructure operations. This position involves technical and field work related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and sewer collection systems, including pump stations and related equipment. Under general supervision, the technician assists with daily operations, follows established procedures, and ensures work is performed safely and in compliance with regulatory standards. A minimum of a “C” Distribution certification is required, with the ability to obtain additional certifications preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform technical maintenance on pump stations, lift stations, and water pumping systems. Install and repair water and sewer lines. Monitor pumping schedules and ensure systems operate efficiently and in compliance with safety standards. Responds to public requests and concerns, conducts on-site inspections, and meets with residents to provide information and solutions. Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, repair reports, and work orders. Operate heavy equipment and tools in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines. Support asphalt repairs, pothole filling, and restoration of utility cuts. Assist with right-of-way maintenance including mowing, debris removal, limb trimming, and vegetation control. Perform traffic control and establish safe work zones for crew operations. Conduct job site restoration, basic landscaping, and post-project cleanup. Participate in the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and other public works assets. Execute other duties as assigned by the Public Works Director, Foreman, or Senior. Assist all departments of Public Works as determined by the Public Works Director.
