Key Responsibilities Most days, you are turning plans, pipe, and fittings into working fire protection systems that people count on but hope they never need. You move between layout, installation, problem solving, and testing, keeping safety, quality, and code in view while the job keeps moving. On a typical project, you will: Install, maintain, inspect, repair, and test wet systems, dry systems, deluge systems, fire pumps, standpipes, backflow preventers, hydrants, and related components. Select the proper pipe type, size, fittings, and equipment based on project requirements. Inspect work sites to identify obstacles and ensure installations do not compromise structural integrity. Coordinate installation and repair work to avoid interference with other trades on site. Cut, thread, groove, solder, and assemble metal and nonmetal pipes including steel, copper, and plastic. Connect pipes using threaded, soldered, grooved, or cemented joints and secure them with brackets, clamps, and hangers. Operate machinery and test systems to ensure proper installation and full operational performance. Follow company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and jobsite rules at all times. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition. Work at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding and lift up to 100 pounds as needed. Travel overnight when required for specific projects. What You Bring to the Table High school diploma or GED Two to five years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Technician or related mechanical trade experience Knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, piping networks, valves, and system layouts Able to operate a Rigid 300 threader, groover, and common installation tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings accurately Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Excellent customer service and communication skills Dependable team player with strong work ethic and commitment to quality What Will Make You Stand Out? You have trade school training in plumbing, pipefitting, construction, or mechanical systems. Beyond the Paycheck At Encore, we’re all about creating a culture where success is celebrated.
