In quieter times of business, drivers also assist in meter reading, tank setting, fleet reconditioning, and maintenance of company-owned and operated properties.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Specific Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Efficiently delivers distillates and propane as directed by the distribution office team, observing all applicable safety practices and company regulations in the performance of duties.</li><li>Performs “return to service” duties that include leak checks and relighting of appliances (propane), and prime/starts (oil).</li><li>Maintains a daily respectful, timely dialogue with the office staff and Distribution Manager/Operations Manager.</li><li>Inspects and maintains delivery trucks, including:    <ul>      <li>Thorough, regular pre-trip inspections as required by state and Federal agencies (DOT, FMCSA), to be documented along with any other truck issues in the company’s fleet management software.</li>      <li>Paperwork (e.g. inspection stickers/reports, registrations, hazmat permits, insurance cards, shipping papers).</li>      <li>Regular interior and exterior cleaning.</li>      <li>Monthly meter creep testing (propane).</li>      <li>Daily emergency shutoff testing (propane).</li>    </ul></li><li>Maintains and submits accurate reports and customer payments.</li><li>Participates in regular safety and operations meetings, proposing ideas for improving delivery processes.</li><li>Executes on the safety strategy defined by the company management team.</li><li>Uses Personal Protective Equipment when applicable (e.g. masks, goggles, face shields, gloves, and boots).</li><li>Provides customer service support for delivery matters as necessary, either in person or by involving other members of the distribution team.</li><li>Keeps the office team and Distribution Manager/Operations Manager informed on delivery or customer situations that arise.</li><li>Assists in off-season tasks such as fleet reconditioning, meter reading, tank setting, and landscaping/maintenance of company properties.</li><li>Executes other tasks and duties assigned by the Distribution Manager/Operations Manager.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Leadership, Education and Training Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>A complete commitment to safety, for self, team, and the customer.</li><li>Driven to meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations, including timely issue resolution and proactive customer outreach.</li><li>Concise, effective verbal and written communications skills.</li><li>Ability to work well independently, and as part of a larger team, to drive positive results.</li><li>Strong time management skills, including the prioritization of necessary tasks to accomplish the desired result.</li><li>Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing situations, driven by climate, geography, and business need.</li><li>Comfort in driving through a wide variety of weather conditions.</li></ul>",
