Overview MRB Design Engineer – Documentation & Disposition (Office-Based) Location: Wichita, KS On-site (Office-Based Role) 💰 Three thousand dollars Sign-On Bonus (after 90 days of successful employment) 🎯 Five thousand dollars Retention Bonus after 12 months of employment Expleo Group USA is seeking experienced MRB Design Engineers to support aerospace manufacturing programs through documentation-based MRB analysis and disposition. This role is office-based and focused on engineering evaluation, judgment, and decision-making using drawings, specifications, inspection data, and photographic evidence. If you are passionate about aircraft repair, MRB engineering, and technical problem-solving—and prefer structured analysis over constant shop-floor firefighting—this role is for you. Key Responsibilities Perform engineering analysis and create MRB design dispositions for assembly manufacturing nonconformances Evaluate repair, rework, and use-as-is scenarios with consideration for fit, form, function, airworthiness, cost, and schedule Process detail and sub-assembly concessions from risk-sharing partners and final assembly lines Apply engineering judgment to documentation, inspection reports, measurements, and photographic evidence Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (Design, Stress, Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers) to determine the most appropriate design solution Ensure adherence to airworthiness requirements, customer procedures, and regulatory standards Clearly document and communicate technical rationale for all MRB decisions Escalate critical issues when required and mentor junior engineers as appropriate Participate in customer-facing technical discussions as needed What This Role Is ✔ Documentation-driven MRB engineering✔ Independent engineering decision-making✔ Office-based with technical depth What This Role Is Not ✖ A shop-floor production support role✖ A clerical or administrative position✖ A rubber-stamp approval function Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or related discipline Engineering degree must be ABET-accredited and recognized under the Washington Accord Minimum of 3 years of MRB structures design engineering experience within aerospace (commercial or military) Previously held MRB signing authority or delegated technical approval within the past 3–5 years (preferred) Experience supporting Boeing commercial aircraft programs, particularly 737 and/or 787, or similar aircraft platforms Strong understanding of metallic and composite structures Solid knowledge of material properties, manufacturing methods, and their impact on aircraft performance Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Working knowledge of SAP NCMS or similar nonconformance management systems Familiarity with CATIA V5 for drawing/model interrogation (preferred) Prior DOA experience, concessions training, TIPQA, or equivalent exposure is a plus Work Schedules Multiple schedules available: Day, night, and weekend shifts Compensation & Benefits Three thousand dollars sign-on bonus after 90 days of successful employment Competitive hourly rate Five thousand dollars retention bonus after 12 months of employment 3 weeks (15 days) of paid time off and paid holidays Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) with company match Stable, office-based work environment Long-term role with retention incentive Supportive, collaborative engineering culture About Expleo Expleo is a global engineering, technology, and consulting service provider with 18,000 employees in over 30 countries.
