Details discussed during the interview process.\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>LPN / LVN – Oncology</p>\n<p>Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME</p>\n<p>Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a specialized Oncology unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports cancer patient care, symptom management, and treatment support, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes while enhancing the patient experience.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide bedside care for oncology and hematology patients</li>\n <li>Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and treatment side effects (e.g., pain, nausea, fatigue)</li>\n <li>Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws</li>\n <li>Support chemotherapy/infusion processes (within scope of practice)</li>\n <li>Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and oncology care teams</li>\n <li>Ensure patient safety, infection control, and protective precautions</li>\n <li>Document care in EMR/EHR systems</li>\n <li>Communicate changes in patient condition promptly</li>\n <li>Provide compassionate support to patients and families</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>1.     High School Diploma or equivalent required.</p>\n<p>2.     Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.</p>\n<p>3.     IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.</p>\n<p>4.     Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.</p>\n<p>5.
