Will be doing a full line of service work on the above-mentioned equipment. Troubleshoot problems as reported. Conduct state approved inspections of equipment. Overhaul diesel engines. Test drive tractor-trailer units and trucks to ensure repair work is correct. Follow blueprint, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. Complete written work reports. Adhere to all safety programs and laws. Willing to be trained in various mechanical skills and subject manners.</p><p>&nbsp;Required Technical Skills:</p><ul><li>Basic&nbsp;mechanical&nbsp;knowledge.</li><li>Welding&nbsp;and&nbsp;soldering&nbsp;skills.</li><li>Electrical-&nbsp;basic&nbsp;skills&nbsp;trouble&nbsp;shooting&nbsp;electrical&nbsp;problems&nbsp;and&nbsp;reading&nbsp;wiring diagrams.</li><li>Diesel&nbsp;Repair-&nbsp;basic&nbsp;working&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;and/or&nbsp;experience&nbsp;of&nbsp;diesel&nbsp;engine&nbsp;repair&nbsp;and&nbsp;overhaul.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;Required Soft Skills:</p><ul><li>Must&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;follow&nbsp;both&nbsp;verbal&nbsp;and&nbsp;written&nbsp;instructions.</li><li>Coachable&nbsp;and&nbsp;willing&nbsp;to learn.</li><li>Excellent&nbsp;verbal&nbsp;and&nbsp;written&nbsp;communication&nbsp;skills.</li><li>Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;work&nbsp;without&nbsp;direct&nbsp;supervision.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;Physical Requirements:</p><p><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong>Must&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;work&nbsp;in&nbsp;both&nbsp;very&nbsp;hot&nbsp;(more&nbsp;than&nbsp;100&nbsp;degrees)&nbsp;and&nbsp;very&nbsp;cold&nbsp;(20&nbsp;degrees below&nbsp;zero)&nbsp;and&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;very&nbsp;wet&nbsp;and&nbsp;humid&nbsp;environment&nbsp;for&nbsp;extended&nbsp;periods&nbsp;of&nbsp;time.&nbsp;Must be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;bend,&nbsp;crawl,&nbsp;climb,&nbsp;squat,&nbsp;and&nbsp;work&nbsp;on&nbsp;items&nbsp;both&nbsp;above&nbsp;the&nbsp;head&nbsp;and&nbsp;at&nbsp;ground&nbsp;level&nbsp;during&nbsp;repair&nbsp;and&nbsp;maintenance&nbsp;operations.&nbsp;Must&nbsp;keep&nbsp;work&nbsp;area&nbsp;safe&nbsp;and&nbsp;clean&nbsp;and work&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;safe&nbsp;and&nbsp;efficient&nbsp;manner.</p><p>&nbsp;Education, Certifications and Experience</p><p><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong></p><ul><li>Minimum&nbsp;Age:&nbsp;21,&nbsp;as&nbsp;per&nbsp;Federal&nbsp;D.O.T.&nbsp;regulations</li><li>Class A Commercial Driver&#39;s License is a plus</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The following is <u>preferred:</u></p><ul><li>C.F.C&nbsp;Refrigeration&nbsp;Type&nbsp;II&nbsp;Certification</li><li>Diesel&nbsp;Refrigeration&nbsp;repair&nbsp;experience</li><li>Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;arc&nbsp;weld&nbsp;and&nbsp;solder.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;Other:</p><p><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong>The&nbsp;Garage&nbsp;Diesel&nbsp;Mechanic&nbsp;is&nbsp;an&nbsp;hourly&nbsp;position&nbsp;and&nbsp;reports&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;Garage&nbsp;Manager.</p><p>&nbsp;Schedule is determined based on shift.
