Blower Development Engineer
Impact and Opportunity
Drives the planning, development, and validation of current and next-generation Blower and Fan product opportunities within the Engineering organization, aligning innovation and execution with the company’s strategic vision and growth objectives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Ensure that brand new products or process related to blowers is designed within various industry standards according to applicable specification in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner while following the PCP process.
Provide technical expertise for blower assembly design and tolerance design.
Work closely with internal and external suppliers to ensure technical requirements are met on time and within cost targets.
Create and maintain DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, GD&T and drawings.
Initiate, review and release drawings, specs and parts.
Ensure that design related documents/changes are in the PDM system and maintained throughout the life of the product.
Continuously improve existing product design to increase customer satisfaction (CI and VAVE initiatives).
Ensure functional and safe prototypes.
Identify unachievable project timelines from design phase through production and service.
Attend, support and participate in engineering development meetings, program launches with the customer and team.
Act as a technical liaison between customer, and Gentherm internal.
Reviews manufacturing and industrial engineering related documentation for new and existing products.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical degree/experience
2 to 6 years of position related experience
