Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Oversees the urinalysis process, collects and analyzes specimens to determine normal or abnormal findings.
Responsible for laboratory documentation/reports, and forwarding lab results to the ordering physician for validation and confirmation.
Responsible for the UDS processing.
Log preliminary and final data from medical tests and enter results into medical records database.
Controls the ordering procedures and inventory of supplies.
Must maintain scheduled completion deadlines; demonstrating self-paced performance and adjusting priorities as needed.
Cross-trains and supports others as needed or requested by supervisor.
Will perform other duties as needed during down time or waiting.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or GED required.
Medical Assistant Certificate, Certified Phlebotomy Tech or Associates in Laboratory Science or a postsecondary certificate of completion from a clinical laboratory training program. Licensed or Registered Technicians preferred.
Prefer three years’ experience in a medical laboratory technician role in a healthcare facility; hospital experience preferred.
Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.
Ability to adhere to regulatory standards, including CARF.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Must have general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (MS Office, Google Products, electronic medical records).
Requires analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain accuracy and thoroughness, and ability to check own work to ensure quality and accuracy.
