Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Survey Manager with an active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license to lead our survey operations and manage a high‑performing team of survey professionals across multiple locations. This role combines technical expertise, people leadership, and project oversight to ensure quality deliverables, client satisfaction, and efficient project execution. Responsibilities include: Provide day‑to‑day leadership and supervision of survey staff, including surveyors, technicians, and field crews Manage workload planning, staffing, scheduling, and project prioritization Oversee and perform survey review, calculations, boundary analysis, and QA/QC Ensure compliance with state laws, professional standards, and company procedures Serve as the responsible PLS on survey projects, including signing and sealing plans Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to support project goals Support staff development through mentoring, training, and performance feedback Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team development activities Assist with budgeting, resource forecasting, and continuous process improvement Represent the survey department in internal meetings and client interactions All other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in [State] (multi‑state licensure a plus) Minimum 10+ years of progressive survey experience Proven experience managing or leading a survey team Strong knowledge of boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking Proficiency with survey software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, or similar) Experience repairing and reviewing Platts is preferred and not required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards Qualifications Experience working in a consulting or multidisciplinary engineering environment Familiarity with UAV, LiDAR, or advanced survey technologies Prior responsibility for departmental operations, budgeting, or workflow improvements Strong client‑facing and business development support experience Benefits: Employee medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents Short-term and long-term disability insurance Company paid life insurance with option to buy up Employee assistance program (EAP) Flexible spending account (FSA) Health savings account (HSA) 401k match program & access to asset management services Year-end bonus Costco membership Paid time off (PTO) and PTO sell back program Paid Holidays Parental Leave Tuition Reimbursement Paid day of community service We are a mid-sized consulting firm providing water, wastewater, civil, transportation, and structural engineering services throughout the West including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah.
