Together, we pride ourselves on being leaders in innovation—building structures that are energy-efficient, durable, and safe.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Job Summary&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span>Reporting to the Director of Safety while taking daily direction from local operations, the Safety Manager plays a key leadership role in fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.&nbsp;</span><span lang=\"EN-US\">This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of site-specific safety programs, policies, standards, and procedures.&nbsp;</span><span>The ideal candidate is a&nbsp;</span><span lang=\"EN-US\">collaborative&nbsp;</span><span>relationship-builder&nbsp;</span><span lang=\"EN-US\">who works closely with</span><span> with front-line supervisors and operational teams to uphold and exceed OSCO’s safety standards.&nbsp; </span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the Safety Manager must engage effectively with a wide range of trades and gain a thorough understanding of the work performed across multiple sites. This position requires regular travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Southwestern Ontario to provide hands-on support and ensure consistent safety practices across all locations.</span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Supervise and mentor Safety Coordinators&nbsp;across the assigned territory</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Collaborate with Operations teams&nbsp;to provide expert guidance on safety matters</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Identify and prioritize health and safety challenges&nbsp;within the workplace and construction sites</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Assess and mitigate hazards&nbsp;associated with high-risk and complex activities</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Participate in industrial hygiene testing, monitoring,&nbsp;and&nbsp;annual equipment certifications</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Work closely with Operations&nbsp;to drive forward solutions and implement corrective actions for unsafe behaviors or conditions</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Lead and facilitate incident investigations&nbsp;and deliver timely reports on injuries, property damage, near misses, and other events</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Conduct comprehensive safety audits&nbsp;to ensure compliance and continuous improvement</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies&nbsp;to build strong, collaborative relationships</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Support safety-related legal proceedings and appeals&nbsp;as required</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs&nbsp;and in-house courses</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Stay informed on evolving legislation, standards,&nbsp;and&nbsp;safety management practices</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Develop and maintain safety programs, polices and procedures.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Oversee Emergency Preparedness Plans and Drills&nbsp;to ensure readiness</span></li></ul><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Technical Requirements</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">7-10 years of progressive safety experience in an industrial/unionized environment ideally within the Construction Industry&nbsp;</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Comprehensive understanding of legislative safety requirements&nbsp;across relevant jurisdictions</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Professional Safety designation (CSS, CSO, NCSO, CRSP) considered an asset</span></li></ul><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Business Requirements</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Strong attention to detail&nbsp;paired with advanced&nbsp;analytical and problem-solving skills</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively</span></li></ul><p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Social Requirements</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Exceptional time management and organizational skills coupled with proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite&nbsp;and other relevant software tools</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Effective communication skills with all levels of management</span></li></ul><p><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, OSCO Group Services Limited offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
