    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>CONSTRUCTION&nbsp;SERVICES&nbsp;PRACTICE</strong></p>\n<p>Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers,&nbsp;estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.</p>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p>\n<p>Michael Baker is actively seeking Construction Inspectors to support infrastructure projects for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in El Centro.&nbsp; The Inspectors will be responsible for ensuring construction work complies with project specifications, applicable codes, and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to quality assurance.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.</li>\n <li>Document field observations, materials, and workmanship through detailed reports and photographs.</li>\n <li>Identify and communicate deficiencies or non-compliance issues to project managers and contractors.</li>\n <li>Monitor safety practices and report any violations or concerns.</li>\n <li>Track construction progress and assist with quantity verification for pay applications</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local construction standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Succeed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3 + years of relevant work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.</li>\n <li>3 years of construction oversight experience including surveillance, monitoring, and controlling construction of all types (horizontal construction preferred), to ensure compliance with contract documents and to ensure use of proper construction materials and techniques. Experience should also include reviewing construction technical data for progress reports, preparing data for processing of pay estimates for construction projects, and enforcing construction industry and safety standards on construction projects.</li>\n <li>Valid&nbsp;driver’s license&nbsp;and ability to pass a government background check, required.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control standards</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.</li>\n <li>OSHA 10 certification, Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP), Construction Quality Management (CQM) OR EM 385-1-1, preferred</li>\n <li>MUST be a US Citizen&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Transportation:</strong> Fleet vehicle and gas card provided for work-related travel.</li>\n <li><strong>Compensation:</strong> Competitive salary commensurate with experience.</li>\n <li><strong>Work Environment:</strong> Primarily field-based with exposure to outdoor conditions and active construction sites.</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Compensation</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The approximate compensation range for this position is $30/hr to $45/hr.
