The HV Battery Build Technician is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the assembly, testing, and basic diagnostics of high-voltage (HV) battery systems. This position focuses on prototype build and validation activities, requiring strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support assembly and teardown of HV battery modules and packs, including cell integration, busbar and coolant systems, enclosure sealing, and diagnostic inspection
Assist with validation and lifecycle testing, operating assembly tools, basic electrical test equipment, and CAN-based communication tools as required.
Perform routine inspections, measurements, and basic diagnostics, escalating issues to senior technicians or engineering as needed.
Execute battery pack and module builds while following defined procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
Collaborate with build team members and supervisors to meet production and testing objectives while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain detailed records of build and test activities, ensuring accurate reporting of issues and results.
Uphold a safe working environment and proactively identify and report potential safety concerns.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation efforts to enhance build efficiency and consistency.
Qualifications
2–3 years of experience in automotive, manufacturing, or technical assembly environments.
Associate’s degree in a technical field, ASE certification, or equivalent practical experience.
Foundational knowledge of HV battery systems, electrical components, and safe handling practices.
Experience with mechanical assembly, hand tools, and basic electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeter).
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting.
Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Willingness to work flexible shifts as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with electrical schematics and basic troubleshooting methods.
Exposure to CAN communication tools or battery test systems.
High voltage certification (or willingness to obtain).
