You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work. </p><p><br /><b><i>Where Your Career is a Force for Good!</i></b></p><p>The Community Volunteer Engagement Senior Specialist mobilizes regional teams of volunteers to deliver impactful mission across Red Cross lines of service. This role will grow local community volunteer capacity and design new volunteer opportunities to meet mission, community, and evolving volunteer needs. This person will work as a player/coach directly engaging volunteers in their assigned jurisdictions and supporting volunteers and volunteer specialists across the region to meet mission needs in their areas.</p><p></p><p><b><i>Key Responsibilities:</i></b></p><p></p><p><b>Manage the Community Volunteer Workforce</b></p><p><i>Grow the community volunteer capacity, engage external partners and the community to meet local needs for community based programming including preparedness programs, <b><span>home fire campaign programs</span></b>, restoring family links,<b><span> International Humanitarian Law initiatives</span></b>, veteran services and other regionally approved services.</i></p><ul><li><span>Liaise with community programming leads (EDs and CVLs) to understand and meet workforce needs</span></li><li><span>Community Services Volunteer management</span></li><li><span>Create visibility and engagement of internal volunteers, youth groups, and partners in chapter opportunities</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Opportunity Design</b></p><p><i>Designing and share new and non-traditional volunteer opportunity types to mobilize the community</i></p><p>•       Manage the VS workforce systems and processes to ensure recurrent and one-time community services are staffed fully</p><p>•       Serve as a subject matter expert in the design of volunteer opportunities to best meet the needs of the community, organization and volunteer</p><p></p><p><b>Continuous Improvement</b></p><p><i>Support the organizational learning and adoption of new and non-traditional volunteer opportunities with line of business</i></p><ul><li><span>Data and reporting on Community Services volunteer impact</span></li><li><span>Program and process improvement</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Volunteer and Employee Matrixed Management</b></p><ul><li><span>Directly lead teams of volunteers locally and regionally</span></li><li><span>Support peers across the region who may lead local community volunteer teams</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Education: Bachelor&#39;s degree required; <b><span>Human Resources Management preferred.</span></b></li><li><span>Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience.</span></li><li><span>Volunteer Management experience preferred.</span></li><li><span>Skills &amp; Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Good organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple and continuously evolving priorities effectively. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of group dynamics, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred.</span></li><li><span>Travel: May involve travel.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>PAY INFORMATION:</b> The annual salary range for this position is $53,000 - $58,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
