The Iñupiaq way of life is woven into our curriculum, programs, activities, and daily interactions within Ilisagvik College and our community partners. </em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Inter', sans-serif; text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUMMARY OF POSITION:</span></span></p>\n<p>Teaches one or more courses within the Construction Trades Technology (CTT) division, specifically the following Electrical courses in Fall 2026 (no more than 7.5 credits per semester). Fall semester begins 8/18/26 and concludes 11/26/26. Please visit <a href=\"https://catalog.ilisagvik.edu/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://catalog.ilisagvik.edu/</a> for a full course description:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Please note: The instructor will need to be on site at Utqiaġvik (Barrow), Alaska for the term of the classes.  </span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>ELEC 101: Electrical, level 1, 4 credits</li>\n<li>ELEC 106: Electrical Blueprints and Design, 2 credits</li>\n<li>ELEC 111: Electrical 1, Skill Lab, 2 credits</li>\n<li>ELEC 166: Introduction to National Electric Code (NEC), 2 credits</li>\n<li>ELEC 206: Commercial Wiring, 3 credits</li>\n<li>ELEC 276: Advanced Blueprints and Design, 3 credits</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Inter', sans-serif; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepares and maintains updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum.<br></li>\n<li>Develops and submits current syllabus, using the college template<br></li>\n<li>Prepares administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance<br></li>\n<li>Evaluates student performance and submits grades to the registrar<br></li>\n<li>Maintain office hours (in-person, telephonically, or online)<br></li>\n<li>Participates in professional development as necessary to be proficient in the college’s current technologies and learning platform (Empower and MyCampus).<br></li>\n<li>Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. <br></li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Inter', sans-serif; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in Construction Trades.</li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li>\n<li>Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel or PowerPoint.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.<br></li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in curriculum development.<br></li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience with distance delivery.<br></li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.<br></li>\n<li>Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.<br></li>\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational systems, North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.<br></li>\n<li>Ability to interpret and represent North Slope community values, customs, and beliefs for the College.</li>\n<li>Ability to interpret and represent College actions and western institutions to the North Slope community.<br></li>\n<li>Ability to support Iḷisaġvik College’s mission.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Inter', sans-serif; font-weight: bold\"> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Required]:</span></span></p>\n<p>Has attained the following:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n<li>Journeyman status with five years of recent related professional experience or equivalent qualifications.</li>\n<li>One year of related professional industry or post-secondary teaching experience.</li>\n<li>Certified NCCER Instructor or have the ability to become a certified NCCER Instructor within 90 days.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Inter', sans-serif; font-weight: bold\"> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Preferred]:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Journeyman status with five years of recent related professional experience or equivalent qualifications or NCCER Instructor Qualified in Plumbing and Electrical.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Inter', sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </span></span>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
