DSP House manager Batavia, IL $1,000 Sign on Bonus The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk, to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Direct Support Professional - House Manager who demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community. Schedule: wk 1 Sun 9a-mid; Mon mid-9a;4-mid; Tues mid-9a 1-mid; Wed mid-9a; wk 2 sat 9p-mid; Sun mid-mid; Mon mid-9a 4pmid; Tues mid-10a 1-mid; wed mid-9a; Evening (6PM to 6 AM) and Weekend (6 AM to 6 PM) earn $2 per hour. What you will be doing? The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for the implementation of the client’s Individualized Strategies, under the direction of a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional. The DSP demonstrates this through daily documentation of service provided including but not limited to recreation, leisure, and activities of daily living for each client to whom they are responsible. The DSP will assure client rights, dignity, and privacy, while maintaining a clean and safe environment. The DSP may work with clients with maladaptive behaviors, which can include but are not limited to verbal aggression, physical aggression, self-injurious behavior, property destruction, and elopement. The DSP may also work with clients who require intensive care including but not limited to toileting and bathing, special diets with personal and/or enteral feeding, and enhanced funding. The House Manager must be knowledgeable about and maintain all applicable program and agency regulations; must be able to correct situations below standards including physical environment, programming, and staff approach and actions. The House Manager will function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team of the individuals supported and must be able to work across any site assigned. Responsible for day-to-day operation of the site: ensuring excellent service delivery, monitoring Home and Community Based Settings Rule compliance, administrative duties, and emergency response to physical environment, medical, behavioral, or other needs identified. Essential Job Responsibilities Maintaining a team approach in working with the clients, staff, and outside agencies. Implementing specific assigned programs from the Individual Plan or Implementation Strategy, and documentation per program procedures. Training and supporting new staff in ongoing implementation of required duties. Be knowledgeable about, follow, and correct deficits across all agency and program rules and regulations. Notifies immediate supervisor if unable to correct a deficit. Plan and prepare meals by following menus and recipes written by dietician with client input and assistance; monitor client diet adherence and report concerns to QIDP and dietician. Reviews and submits assigned location food and supply orders according to procedures; obtains client, staff, and dietician input. Attend to the self-care needs of the clients including but not limited to toileting assistance, changing soiled garments, bathing and grooming, shaving, cleaning glasses and adaptive equipment, etc. Obtain medication administration authorization at a minimum of three (3) locations. Maintain medication administration authorization by attending annual training, following all policies and procedures, and minimizing preventable medication errors. Serves as safety chair at assigned site; assures safe, clean, and sanitary conditions inside and outside the home including maintenance and housekeeping. Includes completing and documenting drills; completing monthly and quarterly safety inspections, making corrections and follow ups as needed; training new staff on drill procedures; following up on noted concerns in drill reports; and scanning all documents into safety binders. Submits all client-related documentation according to established deadlines, communicating any potential delays or barriers to the QIDP. May be asked to collect program and client documentation from other sites and assure that it delivered or scanned to the appropriate place. Monitor availability of client spending money; reconciles tracking and requests funds as needed from QIDP. Provide transportation for clients in personal or agency vehicle for work, shopping, appointments, social events, etc. Must have knowledge of client’s medical conditions and be able to monitor and relay information to and from medical appointments. Leads by example in: attending and/or prioritizing all required trainings as scheduled on or prior to due date to meet licensing and program requirements, attending required staff and agency meetings, and having excellent attendance and punctuality as defined by staff guidelines. Plays a key role in the orientation and training of new staff at assigned site. Oversees at site assigned and coordinates with neighboring sites in the planning and implementation of community and in-house activities. Ensure the occurrence of monthly client input meetings, Home and Community Based Settings Rules training activities, and other client meetings as assigned, conducting when necessary. Obtains documentation of meetings and scans to safety binders. Reviews client-related documentation, incident reports, and medication error reports weekly for completion, correction, and follow up. Employs critical and creative thinking approaches in the day-to-day operation of site assigned; prioritizes tasks effectively and asks for supervisor guidance when needed What will we provide Full Time employees. Qualifications What will you bring to the table? Education: High School Diploma or GED License/certifications: CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or Autism Certificate desired. Experience: Five years of experience working as a Direct Support Professional required, preferably at AID or Associate’s degree required with a minimum of one year of experience working as a Direct Support Professional, preferably at AID. Physical: Climb stairs daily No medical restrictions that would prohibit implementation of a lift/transfer or implementation of behavioral programs. Push, pull, reach, stoop/bend over and use step stool daily Perform daily housekeeping tasks and assist clients in independent living skills. Physically assist clients in situations including, but not limited to: getting in and out of van, bathtub, shower, or bed regularly Implement behavior support strategies and respond to emergency behavioral issues. Requires significant walking and standing on a daily basis. Equipment: Computer and software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams; Zoom platform and application; Internet browser and Microsoft SharePoint platform. Household appliances including stove, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and countertop appliances such as microwaves. Alarm systems for monitoring fire, weather, security, etc. Telephone and voicemail. Office equipment including printer/scanner, copy machine, calculator, shredder, etc. Adaptive equipment as defined in individual strategies including hoyer lift and accessories, shower chairs or benches, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. Agency vehicles with and without wheelchair lifts. Additional Requirements: Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds to assist in two-person lift or with use of adaptive equipment. Pass S-TOFHLA literacy test. Must complete required DSP and Medication Administration Training, including, CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, OIG Rule 50, and CPI. Must maintain medication administration authorization by following all policies and procedures. Evening, weekend, overnight, and holiday hours required; the DSP House Manager is a budgeted 68 hour per week position that includes both evening and overnight hours across consecutive days. Individual must have and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license. The use of a personal automobile and the minimum amount of automobile liability insurance as defined in the Association’s personnel policy is required. Must transport clients in personal automobile when necessary. Must have access to a personal cell phone with ability to utilize downloaded applications for secure messaging. Must meet and maintain IDOT Approved Driver Status. Must be at least 18 years of age. Attendance: Working scheduled hours at various locations as determined by client and program needs is required. Must attend scheduled in-service trainings. font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Adaptive equipment as defined in individual strategies including hoyer lift and accessories, shower chairs or benches, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">&nbsp;Agency vehicles with and without wheelchair lifts.</span></span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\"><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></span></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds to assist in two-person lift or with use of adaptive equipment.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Pass S-TOFHLA literacy test.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Must complete required DSP and Medication Administration Training, including, CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, OIG Rule 50, and CPI.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Must maintain medication administration authorization by following all policies and procedures.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Evening, weekend, overnight, and holiday hours required; the DSP House Manager is a budgeted 68 hour per week position that includes both evening and overnight hours across consecutive days.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Individual must have and maintain a valid Illinois driver&rsquo;s license.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">The use of a personal automobile and the minimum amount of automobile liability insurance as defined in the Association&rsquo;s personnel policy is required.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">Must transport clients in personal automobile when necessary.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block; font-size:14px\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,Times,serif\">&nbsp;Must have access to a personal cell phone with ability to utilize downloaded applications for secure messaging.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"display:block;
