    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Safety Specialist – Mission Critical is responsible for driving a world-class safety culture on high-risk, high-pace construction projects such as hyperscale data centers and other mission-critical facilities. This role ensures that safety is fully integrated into planning, execution, and commissioning activities where downtime, failure, or incident is not an option.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This individual partners closely with Operations, MEP teams, and subcontractors to proactively identify and mitigate risk, maintain compliance, and uphold Brinkmann’s commitment to delivering safe, high-performance environments.</p>\n<p>Brinkmann’s purpose is people. Our passion is building—but in mission-critical, safety is foundational to protecting lives, schedules, and billions in client investment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Champion a zero-incident safety culture across all phases of construction, reinforcing accountability at every level of the jobsite </li>\n <li>Lead daily engagement with subcontractors, field teams, and leadership to ensure alignment on safety expectations and execution </li>\n <li>Integrate safety into preconstruction planning, work sequencing, and high-risk activity coordination </li>\n <li>Perform advanced hazard identification and job hazard analyses (JHA/HIRA), particularly for high-risk scopes such as energized electrical work, crane operations, confined spaces, and commissioning activities </li>\n <li>Proactively identify and manage risks associated with fast-track schedules, overlapping trades, and high-density jobsite conditions common in data center construction</li>\n <li>Support development and maintenance of risk registers and mitigation strategies tied to safety, schedule, and operational readiness</li>\n <li>Enforce safety protocols around high-energy systems including electrical distribution, arc-flash hazards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and live system commissioning </li>\n <li>Coordinate closely with MEP teams and trade partners to ensure safe installation, testing, and startup of critical infrastructure systems such as UPS, switchgear, and generators </li>\n <li>Conduct frequent jobsite inspections, audits, and observations to identify hazards and ensure compliance with Brinkmann, OSHA, and client-specific standards </li>\n <li>Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions </li>\n <li>Maintain required safety documentation including OSHA logs, inspection reports, permits, and training records </li>\n <li>Deliver site-specific orientations and ongoing safety training to support a large, multi-shift workforce </li>\n <li>Coach field teams and subcontractors on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and behavior-based safety principles </li>\n <li>Partner with project managers, superintendents, and safety leadership to ensure safety is embedded in all project decisions and workflows</li>\n <li>Interface with clients, insurers, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment with strict mission-critical safety expectations </li>\n <li>Monitor and manage PPE compliance, ensuring standards meet or exceed client and project requirements often above OSHA minimums</li>\n <li>Analyze leading and lagging indicators to identify trends and proactively prevent incidents </li>\n <li>Support implementation of digital safety tools, reporting systems, and continuous improvement initiatives</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>5–8+ years of construction safety experience (mission-critical / data center preferred)</li>\n <li>Experience on large, complex, fast-track projects with multiple subcontractors</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and mission-critical safety standards</li>\n <li>Proven experience managing safety in high-energy environments (electrical, mechanical, commissioning)</li>\n <li>Ability to lead safety efforts across diverse teams and communicate effectively at all levels</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Data center / mission-critical project experience</li>\n <li>CSP, CHST, or similar certification</li>\n <li>Experience with commissioning-phase safety and live-system environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p>At Brinkmann Constructors, our passion for people means investing in their financial, mental, and physical well-being.
