    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "Job Summary\n<p>The Director of Hardware Engineering provides strategic leadership and technical direction for Fluke’s hardware engineering organization. This role is responsible for long-term lifecycle management, world-class hardware development practices, engineering discipline maturity, and robust execution from concept through sustainment. The director ensures that hardware engineering delivers high-quality, reliable, and compliant solutions that differentiate Fluke’s test and measurement products. This leader strengthens functional capabilities, manages external engineering resources and SOWs, oversees component and supplier strategies, and ensures the long-term health and resilience of the hardware organization.</p>Key Responsibilities\n<p>• Lead the full hardware engineering lifecycle—from architecture and requirements through design, verification, launch, sustainment, and end-of-life.</p>\n<p>• Establish and mature discipline-specific hardware engineering best practices across electrical, mechanical, PCB, and test engineering.</p>\n<p>• Serve as the senior hardware subject matter expert, ensuring strong alignment with systems, firmware, software, product management, and manufacturing stakeholders.</p>\n<p>• Develop long-term lifecycle strategies including component selection, obsolescence mitigation, and sustaining engineering.</p>\n<p>• Lead external staff augmentation, including SOW creation, negotiation, and quality governance.</p>\n<p>• Build organizational depth through technical mentorship, succession planning, and leadership development.</p>\n<p>• Drive strategic supplier engagement to ensure component availability, cost optimization, and technology co-innovation.</p>\n<p>• Guide hardware capability investments and roadmap alignment with business strategy and future market needs.</p>\n<p>• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and engineering efficiency.</p>Qualifications\n<p>• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related hardware-focused field; advanced degree preferred.</p>\n<p>• 10–15+ years of progressive hardware engineering experience, including 5–7+; years leading hardware teams.</p>\n<p>• Proven experience delivering complex electrical/electronic products through full lifecycle.</p>\n<p>• Experience with contractor management, staff augmentation models, and SOW-driven engagements.</p>\n<p>• Strong understanding of DFM/DFT, component engineering, regulatory compliance, and test methodologies.</p>\n<p>• Demonstrated ability to lead supplier relationships and contract manufacturers.</p>\n<p>• Excellent communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.</p>\n<p>• Experience in test &amp; measurement, industrial, or high-reliability products is preferred.</p>Key Competencies\n<p>• Strategic Leadership</p>\n<p>• Hardware Technical Depth</p>\n<p>• Execution Excellence</p>\n<p>• Cross-Functional Collaboration</p>\n<p>• Supplier &amp; Contract Management</p>\n<p>• Talent &amp; Knowledge Development</p>\n<p>• Innovation &amp; Continuous Improvement</p>",
