If you want the chance to lead, it’s time to bring your talent to General Dynamics Mission Systems as a <strong>Systems Engineering Technical Manager - Strategic Weapons Control (SWC)</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Strategic Weapons Control (SWC) program provides mission-critical capabilities to our customer's Ohio/Vanguard and Columbia/Dreadnought class submarines including tactical Fire Control, auxiliary, and training systems. We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Tasks:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides leadership in defining technology, tool and process strategy across a technical domain</li>\n <li>Overall responsibility for the engineering aspects of a technical domain, to include the acquisition of critical resources</li>\n <li>Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering efforts within area of responsibility</li>\n <li>Capable of identifying project risks, assessing issues and developing resolutions that meet cost, schedule productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives</li>\n <li>Review’s status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports</li>\n <li>Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients and other stakeholders</li>\n <li>Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management</li>\n <li>Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function</li>\n <li>Handles personnel issues within area of responsibility including merit planning, performance reviews and disciplinary actions</li>\n <li>Participates in development of technical strategies and teaming strategies in technical domain</li>\n <li>Participates in the proposal process, including the development of executable project plans on proposals</li>\n <li>Ensures process compliance of all engineering activity in area of responsibility</li>\n <li>Leads specific process improvement activities</li>\n <li>Determines and implements the organizational training needs in accordance with the requirements of the technical domain</li>\n <li>Ensures that domain engineers are active in developing risk mitigation plans and managing their risk profiles</li>\n <li>May have budget responsibilities</li>\n <li>Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors and employees</li>\n <li>Communicates regularly with project customer, and suppliers, project team, and internal management</li>\n <li>Regular contact with all other personnel in area of responsibility</li>\n <li>Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals</li>\n <li>Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies</li>\n <li>Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s)</li>\n <li>Expected to manage work, set objectives and meet commitments for self and others</li>\n <li>Delegates assignments to others for developing solutions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong leadership skills</li>\n <li>Applies or develops highly advanced technologies, principles, theories including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM)</li>\n <li>Strong experience in driving continuous improvement in Engineering process and tools</li>\n <li>Works collaboratively with resources external to the functional or program team</li>\n <li>Responsible for establishing and achieving operational objectives for a moderately complex function, program or program scope</li>\n <li>Expected to integrate complex activities</li>\n <li>Strong proficiency at all responsibilities associated with the position</li>\n <li>Strong ability to recruit, manage and retain people</li>\n <li>Typically has strong experience in this area of expertise</li>\n <li>Understands, evaluates and guides the focus of all activities in a technical domain</li>\n <li>Recognized internally and
