This role works in collaboration with clinical supervisors and mental health clinicians in all services to ensure quality psychiatric care of consumers and quality clinical consultation to staff.  The successful candidate will collaborate with community partners, colleagues, and families to provide family-centered, strengths-based, individually-tailored care to clients of Catholic Community Services in Portland, Oregon.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WHO ARE WE:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are a values-driven organization, providing family-oriented mental health care for children, youth and families in their own homes and communities. Youth with special needs or on controlled medications do require in-person appointments at times. This may include some in-person events and trainings.  </li>\n <li>Pay is commensurate with related experience and credentials.  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducts psychiatric assessment of youth in services.</li>\n <li>Evaluates medication needs, prescribes, and supervises ongoing medication needs for all assigned clients.  </li>\n <li>Participates in regular intervention reviews and ongoing treatment planning for all consumers. </li>\n <li>Meets regularly and as needed with consumers for medication monitoring/management; consults with families as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Provides regular psychiatric/medical consultation and direction to clinical staff.</li>\n <li>Participates in care coordination with community partners for higher levels of care or specialized treatment services.</li>\n <li>Consults regularly with leadership around service needs. </li>\n <li>Completes all paperwork and record keeping required of position.</li>\n <li>Provides after-hours, on-call consultation via phone, as needed.</li>\n <li>Provides consultation with PMHNP staff on complex cases or when requested. </li>\n <li>Other duties may be included.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>WHAT WE ARE SEEKING IN A CANDIDATE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Psychiatrist should be:</strong> Legally licensed to practice medicine in Oregon State; license and DEA certificate in good standing; ability to meet necessary privileging and credentialing criteria (JCAHO and NCQA).  Board Certified as Adolescent Psychiatrist (or BE certification).</li>\n <li><strong>PMHNP should be:</strong> Legally licensed to practice medicine in Oregon State; license and DEA certificate in good standing; ability to meet necessary privileging and credentialing criteria (JCAHO and NCQA). PMHNP certification.</li>\n <li>Two years’ experience working with children and families in a clinical setting with strong knowledge of child and adolescent development and family systems.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated competence in assessment, diagnosis, medication evaluation and current, sound prescriptive practices for children experiencing mental illness.</li>\n <li>Commitment to strengths-based, family-centered, and individually-tailored clinical approaches.</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and work with child-serving systems (mental health, child welfare, education, juvenile justice/courts, public health, social services).</li>\n <li>Commitment to collaboratively teaming with staff from multi-disciplinary backgrounds. </li>\n <li>Must successfully pass required background clearances. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated commitment to a workplace which embraces diversity.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability and willingness to consult with staff.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally responsive services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.</li>\n <li>Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of Catholic Community Services.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT PORTLAND:</strong></p>\n<p>Whether you’re a fan of theater, live music, craft beer, funky foods or being outside, Portland has something for you.
