This role requires a demonstrated ability to foster collaboration, accountability, and high performance at the senior leadership level. The CFO must uphold the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality, particularly in handling sensitive financial, personnel, and organizational information. A commitment to ethical leadership and sound judgment is essential in maintaining trust and alignment across the organization.</p>\n<p>The CFO is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling corporate analysis and maintenance of accounting, financial, and statistical reports and records to account for the hospital’s financial resources. This position oversees financial planning and monitoring for affiliates and subsidiaries, projects hospital revenues, directs the preparation and maintenance of all fiscal records and systems, and provides financial data for long-range planning.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan, organize, and control the maintenance of accounting, financial, and statistical reports to ensure accurate financial resource management.</li>\n<li>Provide financial planning and monitor activities for hospital affiliates and subsidiaries.</li>\n<li>Project total hospital revenues and develop strategies for financial growth.</li>\n<li>Direct the preparation and maintenance of all fiscal records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.</li>\n<li>Develop and interpret financial data to support hospital leadership in long-range planning initiatives.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with department heads to create and monitor budgets.</li>\n<li>Prepare financial reports and present findings to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Oversee external audits and ensure proper documentation and transparency.</li>\n<li>Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable financial laws, regulations, and organizational policies.</li>\n<li>Provide guidance and mentorship to the financial team to ensure professional development and operational efficiency.</li>\n<li>Ensure financial planning and resource allocation decisions support and enhance patient safety initiatives.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with clinical and operations leaders to align budgeting and capital investments with safety and quality improvements goals.</li>\n<li>Ensure funding and financial oversight for staff training, safety technologies, and infrastructure improvements that promote patient safety.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills / Abilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to interpret complex financial data.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and accounting principles.</li>\n<li>Effective leadership and team-building skills with the ability to mentor staff.</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with executive staff, board members, and external stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel, accounting systems, and reporting tools.</li>\n<li>Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education, Certificates, and License:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.</li>\n<li>Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Certificates / License:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a healthcare setting.</li>\n<li>Experience in long-range financial planning and managing complex budgets.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Lifting:</span> Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 10 lbs.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mobility:</span> Frequent sitting, occasional walking, and standing during work hours.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Posture:</span> Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Dexterity:</span> Adequate motor skills for handling documents and operating office equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EEOC Statement:</span></p>\n<p>Harrison County Community Hospital District provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.</p>",
