          "text": "<p><u><strong>Overview:</strong></u></p><p>Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, and HVAC/air conditioning systems such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, refrigeration units, ventilation systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.</p><p><strong><u>Here's what you'll do:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, HVAC systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.</li><li>Observes mechanical devices and HVAC equipment in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.</li><li>Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.</li><li>Diagnoses and repairs all types of electrical systems including electric motors, photo-eyes, sensors, HVAC controls, thermostats, and wiring systems up to 480V.</li><li>Performs troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.</li><li>Inspects HVAC systems and components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, belts, filters, ducts, and refrigerant lines to ensure proper operation and efficiency.</li><li>Repairs or replaces defective HVAC components including motors, fans, relays, thermostats, contactors, and refrigerant system parts.</li><li>Monitors refrigerant levels, checks for leaks, and performs refrigerant recovery and recharging in compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.</li><li>Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.</li><li>Repairs or replaces defective parts.</li><li>Lubricates and cleans parts.</li><li>Starts devices and HVAC equipment to test their performance.</li><li>Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.</li><li>Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.</li><li>Documents all work completed on work orders per established procedures.</li><li>Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and environmental requirements related to HVAC and refrigerant handling.</li><li>With some supervision:</li><li>Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.</li><li>Inspects used parts to determine dimensional changes.</li><li>Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control devices.</li><li>Installs special functional and structural parts in devices and HVAC systems.</li></ul>",

High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school/occupational training desired but not required.</li><li>LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required.</li><li>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions.</li><li>REASONING ABILITY Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions.
