Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities for this Position</h2>\n<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the design, development, and integration of advanced systems aboard surface vessels. In this role, you will be at the forefront of design and integration of Navigation Systems and PLC-based Machinery Control Systems, working across the full product lifecycle to deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you're passionate about engineering complex systems, thrive in collaborative environments, and want to make a real impact on naval surface vessel programs, we want to hear from you.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p>\n<p>As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our surface vessel systems are robust, secure, and mission-ready. Your core responsibilities will include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Identifying, analyzing, and developing</strong> system designs across navigation and machinery control domains</li>\n <li><strong>Supporting system verification and validation</strong> test activities</li>\n <li><strong>Generating technical engineering products</strong> using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle</li>\n <li><strong>Participating in requirements analysis</strong>, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration, and verification testing</li>\n <li><strong>Performing interface definition studies</strong> of system components and products</li>\n <li><strong>Planning and executing sub-tasks</strong> across all phases of system development</li>\n <li><strong>Contributing to the shaping of future products</strong> by influencing the frameworks and processes used across multiple programs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency in the use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories</li>\n <li>Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information</li>\n <li>Experience working in a cross-functional team environment throughout the product life cycle – from pre-proposal through post-delivery support</li>\n <li>Ability to quickly grasp and apply new information and handle complex assignments efficiently</li>\n <li>Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p>We encourage you to apply even if you have only some of the following experiences.
