This position is responsible for the accurate & timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll for approximately 5,250 hospital & supporting organization staff using Meditech and API eScheduling systems. The successful candidate will prepare monthly reporting and is accountable for the calculation & reconciliation of legislated remittances. This role is also a primary contact in addressing both internal and external stakeholder inquiries. Process the bi-weekly payroll for unionized and non-unionized employees accurately by ensuring compliance with hospital policies and union collective agreements Process employee expense reimbursement claims and other payments in accordance with the applicable policies Review and process bi-weekly payroll adjustment forms Prepare audit reports of the bi-weekly payroll for review Prepare, reconcile and remit monthly government remittances Prepare multi-union reporting & submit payment for union dues Process and submit employment and government forms as required (i.e. Stats Canada reports, ROE’s, WSIB claim information) Act as a resource to internal departments for payroll matters Engage in cross functional workflow development & testing Recommend and lead process improvements Work cross functionally to ensure organizational compliance with payroll processes Calculate & process retro payments as required Provide organizational payroll training Perform administrative duties including filing, data entry, ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.
