Investigate and apply non-customer payments received to the appropriate general ledger account.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Be self-reliant with the entire cash posting process for incoming ACH’s, wires and checks. Post cash receipts daily, which includes:</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <ul>\n  <li>Obtaining customer remittance information from the AR mailbox and applying payments received to invoices on the customer’s account</li>\n  <li>Research and resolve any unapplied customer payments timely manner </li>\n  <li>Research and resolve any unapplied non-customer payments in a timely manner</li>\n  <li>Maintain cash receipt documentation (customer remittance, bank reports/statements, etc.) in organized manner</li>\n  <li>Monitor/Maintain department inboxes (3 inboxes: including AR mailbox, Canadian AR mailbox and AR statement inboxes)</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Respond to all internal and external AR/Cash application requests and inquiries (account statements, payment reconciliations, etc.)</li>\n <li>Communicate account status to appropriate individuals in GATX management with timely and accurate information</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency and/or work experience in cash applications. </li>\n <li>SAP experience is extremely helpful.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for managing data and creating reports</li>\n <li>Basic accounting knowledge beneficial</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash applications and collections.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively resolve any issues related to cash applications.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.</li>\n <li>Strong problem-solving skills to effectively address any discrepancies or issues.</li>\n <li>Typical knowledge of other Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Teams and other Microsoft Office products</li>\n <li>Establish and maintain rapport with internal and external customers to enhance business relationships.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>This is a remote position; however, candidates must be based in the Chicago area to attend initial training and occasional in‑office meetings.</strong></p>\n<h2>Posting Duration</h2>This posting will remain open until the role is filled.\n<h2> </h2>As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:\n<h2>Min</h2>USD $61,200.00/Yr.\n<h2>Max</h2>USD $69,000.00/Yr.\n<h2> </h2>This role may be eligible to participate in the Company’s short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.\n<h2> </h2>This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.",
