Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Pay</strong>:</p><ul><li>The pay range listed reflects both titles.</li><li>This position may be eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for a Senior Medical Lab Technician position or a $12,000 sign-on bonus for a Medical Technologist position.</li><li>Additional components of compensation may include:&nbsp;<ul><li>Evening and night shift differential</li><li>Weekend differential</li></ul></li><li>Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Be part of something remarkable</u></strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We are seeking a <strong>Senior Medical Lab Technician OR Medical Technologist – Microbiology</strong> to:</p><ul><li>Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).</li><li>Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.</li><li>Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.</li><li>Work as an effective team member as demonstrated by good relations with physicians, clinic staff and co-workers.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At UW Health, you will have:</p><ul><li>An excellent benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, two-week paid parental leave and adoption assistance. OR education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either:</p><ul><li>24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR</li><li>24 semester hours of science courses&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology. Or Bachelor’s degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent, that includes either:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR&nbsp;</li><li>24 semester hours – 6 chemistry, 6 biology and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology in any combination</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Work Experience</strong>:<br>Minimum –&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Senior Medical Laboratory Technician – One (1) year of experience performing moderate and some high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory and successful completion of competency assessment; or Two (2) years in a clinical laboratory<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Medical Technologist – no minimum work experience needed</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>License &amp; Certification</strong>:&nbsp;<br>Certification (Medical Lab Technician, Medical Lab Science, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency Preferred</p><p><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Our Commitment to Social Impact and Belonging</strong></p><p>UW Health is committed to fostering a workplace that creates belonging for everyone and is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
