Description

Who is Aiwyn and what do we do? Aiwyn is the first complete platform for modern accounting firms. Backed by top-tier investors like Bessemer, KKR, and Revolution, we’re one of the fastest-growing scale-up SaaS companies in the world. We build category-defining technology—and we’re doing it with world-class people, processes, and products.   To learn more, visit our website   About the Role Aiwyn is a PE-backed (KKR) SaaS and payments company that has completed four acquisitions in the past two years. We're building the finance infrastructure to match that growth, and we're looking for a Senior Accountant who wants to be part of that build, not just maintain what's already there. This role reports to the VP of Accounting and works closely with the Assistant Controller & Accounting Manager across a multi-entity, multi-revenue-stream business. You'll own meaningful areas of the month-end close, serve as a first line of quality review, and operate with the kind of independence that comes from real experience. Our environment is complex — consolidated reporting across multiple subsidiaries, usage-based billing, SaaS subscriptions, and PE-level reporting standards. We’re looking for someone who is excited to take on this challenge and grow through a new learning experience. We're a small, high-performing team that values Relentlessness, Ownership, and Trust. Some of the processes you'll work with are well-established; others you'll help build from scratch. If you're the kind of person who sees a gap and fills it without being asked, who'd rather solve the root cause than patch a workaround, and who gets genuinely excited about using technology and automation to make things work better, this is the right environment for you. Month-end close and audit season bring hard deadlines, and we meet them with professionalism and composure. In return, you'll work alongside people who hold themselves to the same standard they ask of you, with direct visibility into how the business operates, real ownership of your work, and room to grow as the team and company scale. Key Responsibilities: Own month-end close execution for assigned areas, including balance sheet account reconciliations (Deferred and Unbilled Revenue, Capitalized Software, Capitalized Commissions, Internal Use Software) and bank reconciliations across all entities, including FBO accounts. Serve as a first line of review on close deliverables, identifying anomalies, researching variances, and escalating issues intelligently before they reach the Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager. Oversee deal setup and billing processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contractual terms. Support revenue recognition and billing reconciliation workflows across multiple revenue streams. Partner with the Assistant Controller and Accounting Manager to facilitate the annual audit, including preparing documentation, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items. Develop and continuously improve financial reporting procedures, identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization. Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and audit readiness requirements are consistently met. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting. Execute ad hoc analysis, projects, and reporting requests as assigned by leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA or CPA candidate preferred 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; a combination of public and private accounting experience strongly preferred, with at least 2 years in public accounting Experience in a SaaS, payments, or multi-entity environment preferred Proficiency in NetSuite or comparable enterprise ERP Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and own outcomes with minimal oversight Strong Excel and data management skills Comfort with AI tools and automation; genuine curiosity about how technology can improve accounting workflows Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Benefits and Perks: The big-picture value proposition of this role is simple: join us, and you'll be paid competitively to have freedom in solving worthwhile, challenging problems alongside other A-players at a fast growing SaaS startup led by an experienced and successful co-founding team with industry experience.   Other benefits include: Adventure travel stipend - you receive a $1,000 travel reimbursement on your work anniversary each year. We encourage our team to recharge and explore the world beyond their home office walls. Remote, work-from-anywhere culture Flexible PTO World Class health benefits - we believe in fostering flourishing teams by providing benefits that go beyond the usual standards - Health, vision, dental, HSA/FSA, and mental health support. Stock options - every Full Time Employee has ownership in Aiwyn's future and success. 401(k) matching Our Values: Relentless by Design Owners not Renters Trust at the Core Aiwyn is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, ancestry, color, family or medical care leave, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, national origin, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, protected veteran status, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations and ordinances.   Candidate information will be treated in accordance with our CCPA privacy notice which can be found here: https://www.aiwyn.ai/ccpa
